Advice SNES Emulator On 3DS?

Is it possible to get a SNES emulator on my boys 3DS? I have Google searched and that said it can be done but gave no advice on how to do it. We have an R4 Gold card somewhere deep inside my drawer full of crap so I do have one of those if that is needed. Mini Trem (my son not my todger) is heavily in to Street Fighter and Zelda at the minute and I would love him to play the old skool versions.
