Uganda: Hartnäckiger Raucher in Dorfkneipe gelyncht - SPIEGEL ONLINE - Nachrichten - Panorama

And ofc here goes the English translation:

Persistant smoker lynched in village bar

His passion was his death sentence: A guest in a village bar in Uganda was lynched because he didn't want to do without cigarettes.

Kampala - A man in a village bar had to pay with his life for refusing to stop smoking: on friday, a police spokesman said that a drunk mob had lynched the persistent smoker in the village Nagongera near the Kenian border. All participants were probably drunk during this incident.

The east African country has banned smoking in public places in 2004. The fines for breaking this law are an equivalent of around 35 Euro. There is no other known case, where militant non-smokers have resorted to taking the law in their own hands.

So, some non-smokers are over-reacting morons while stupidity gets you killed. This is news?

Smoking is nutritious, helps clear the airways, relieves stress, and adds character

Yep. So if you smoke 5 ciggies a day, you're healthy. Smoke 20 a day and you'll have the immune system of a god

Just the cough mainly, and it does effect my fitness. But on the plus side it calms you down in times of stress.

i dont think you should need to justify what you enjoy tbh.

if you do something you dont enjoy, change it.

15 really isn't that much a day is it? Someone in my family has one fucking lung and he's going through almost 60 a day. Mind you, he's pretty fucked at present.

on a different note, smoking can be incredibly hazard to your health. On my 18th birthday had a small party at a mates house(god thats 3 years ago now :p) a friend of mine went outside to smoke. No-one else did so we carried on playing pool inside. 10minutes or so later he came back in looking very pale and went and sat in a corner. We carried on for a little bit, then seeing that he wasnt saying much and normally he's very talkative we thought something might be wrong. So one of my friends who was staying sober, took him to hospital.

The next day we found out that he had broken both his arms. twice in his right arm. Dislocated both his wrists and shattered his elbow. We don't kno how he did it, (he still says he was wrestling a bear) but he managed to get himself back upright walk back up the hill and open a tricky door. We were very impressed with that!!

For a healthy (ahem), unobtrusive and non smelly tobacco fix I would recommend snuff.

Super Himalaya Snuff is my nostril cancer powder of choice.

I've dropped from 15-20 a day, to below 5. Getting there. Mainly because I know relying on my loan for cigarettes would be a bad idea.

To be honest mate I wouldn't know, I've never smoked cigs :)

Oh, and not much more help on buying it, I think that site's in India or somewhere. I bought mine from a Buddhist monk on a street in Mongolia. You can buy snuff in tobacconists though, next time I'm near my local one I'll see what he has for sale in the UK and what he recommends. I have no idea if you get the same buzz from snuff at all.
