Slinker loves BG1 :)

Got to say I have played this game for over a year now and thought I'd make an NS , something I said I would never do . Quite recently gave a lot of NS equipment away too grrrr . Anyway yesterday my first time in BG1 was a superb riot , absolutely loved it , killing and being killed . From my sig you can see I have a 42 ranger , but Slinker blows him out of the water , basicallly for pure fun . I PA'd backstabbed , generally went off and blew some life into the game . Off course I had the same done to me , but not once did I die without a smile on my face . My favourite was sneaking into FG's and hitting someone and escaping , man I would have liked to see a few faces irl when they went down after being 1 shotted . The troll that was jumping up and down in his group had to be the funniest , I was stood in front of him stealthed , he landed and I landed my PA and one shotted him , just to see the look on his face . ahhh cant wait for today . And a good job by all yesterday for making it as good . Cya soon .

Thidranki definately breathes a lot of life into the game.

I only wish GOA would make a pure thidranki server, with no RP limit.

Would be AWESOME!

Same as when they had the event testing on Goore, make it so you just have to speak to the dude to get levelled and money

Of course would mean ppl would have all their equipment uber tweaked due to no lack of money, but would be DAMN good fun

mm no mythic needs to address real rvr. Bg was an addition to the game for lowbies. So they could hone there skills for reall rvr. This game was not meant for everyone to be 24 -_-

I think there are two issues here, which I truly wish Mythic would address :-

Firstly, RvR is supposedly the end game of DAoC, and yet it has many flaws. Lag being a big one, which you don't often get in the BG. That may be server issues that GOA need to address as well, but it is not the only reason I am sure. And believe me when I say I am not a GOA fan even if GOA do eventually get around to upgrading the servers the lag is still a problem And yes, I do have a kick ass PC setup, so it is not that either

Secondly, and personally, I find that BG1 is much, much, more fun than full RvR, and I wish that in some way this fun factor could be transferred to RvR. I think at the heart of it all, lies the fact that mezz is limited in bg1, there is no See Hidden to worry about, and so are the RA. Basically everyone has a good, even chance in BG1, and no one class truly dominates, unless totally specced wrong, and this is the heart of why it is such fun, and so popular. If this balance could only be transferred to RvR....The balance between classes and realms in full RvR simply isn't right just yet. I can't help thinking that See Hidden & Mezz are the main factors (but not the only ones, RA also for example) in this and truly wish they would alter them.

Not to say RvR is NOT fun, but I always get the feeling I have enjoyed myself more in BG1 than RvR, which is a great shame. I enjoy BG3 more than full RvR, but Thidranki is the best imo.

Yes I have. And yer, maybe a little pointless, but was much better to know what your enemy had instore for you, and that they couldn't suddenly get their full HP bar back again

RA's were not a good introduction IMO.
