Anyone else think its getting out of hand?

Black people demanding compensation from governments, demanding apologies.

It happen 300 years ago for gods sake, get over it. You dont see me resenting the Scandinavians for coming over and spanking thier way across the north. Or the french or romans come to think of it.

Just watching question time,m got an British/Indian woman saying I do not want this country to become a country that apologies to everyone for history.

i think its the realization that you can cash in on the fact your ancestors were slaves causing the increase in demanding of apologies and seeking of reparations. the fact that your ancestors had it rough doesnt mean you deserve money or an apology for what they went through, because you arent going through it now and thankfully times have changed. i've not seeked reparations for the fact my ancestors were driven from france to england - put the past behind and look to future.

on a side note , in the country where i live people also justify royalty with some illusive claims of goodwill and prestige that is supposed to generate revenue but fail to show on economic statistics.

Instead of saying sorry I think we should throw a huge celebration of the fact that Britain was the first country to abolish slavery, in some cases decades before some other countries, a fact that we can be proudoff.

Throw a big party, say how proud we are that we pioneered freedom and equality for all, and see how those whining idiots in the stupid 'so sorry' t-shirts feel about that.

The thing that pisses me off the most, is that half those jobless do-gooders with nothing better to do then protest simply don't even care what they are protesting against, they just want to shit stir and cause a fuss.

I think you will find the Germans paid a very heavy price for the Nazi's ran into billions and billions, but thats another story.

Questions should be asked about the Japanese tho, the Yanks gave them Billions and Billions after the war, and there own history books failed to mention many abuses they did during the war. But hey lets all get along together.

I have nothing to be sorry about, my ancestors could well have been slave owners at some point back in the past, why should I apologise for something that happened 200 years ago.

Britain is just a doormat for the world. As a nation we need to stand up for ourselves.

Yes slavery was wrong but it`s a long time ago, where do you draw the line? The welsh asking for reparations for the English invading their country? The celts asking for reparations from the italians for invading britain ect ect.

Howver, you have to bear in mind the media, they`re like a jack russel with a rubber toy they get a wiff of something pointless or a tiny story and blow it out of proportion totally and never let go. The media in Britain rarely tell the full story.
