OK so i am currently looking at moving to another country.

I'm trying to see a way to sell this to my folks that it wont cost them a fortune to get in contact with me half a planet away ;)

So I am looking at getting a SkypeIN number here in the UK, probably London number. Which I'll then tie into a Skype Phone or just my laptop out in where ever. [BTW if people have any comments about Skype Phones, all ears :)]

Anywho, as i understand it. I pay the monthly sub for the number, they pay the local call rate for the local call in country....and then there is no further cost.

IE, I do not pay for receiving the call to my pc, over that number to wherever i am on the planet.

Correct?

Hi Poag

Please don't sue me if I'm mistaken, but yes, I believe you're correct. I just had a quick look on the SkypeIn product page and it seems to confirm what you wrote. You can also find out more on the Skype Support website.

Kind regards

Jonty

P.S. If your parents are comfortable using Skype, Messenger etc. then there's no need to use the SkypeIn service (so you and your family can save some money).

As for Skype phones, my friend has something similar for a different service and it looks and works just like a regular phone. It's simplicitly itself, but the nicer models (e.g. LCD displays and more advanced options) aren't particularly cheap.
