i realise the actors in these are getting paid to big up sky+ but it just seems too natural, almost like they believe what they are saying. is it possible, someone is that stupid/lazy/etc?

the latest one today took the piss big time, i quote here

"sky+ allows me to do what i want, go out when i want and eat when i want"

i bolded that bit because i actually shouted WHAT THE FUCK at the tv when i heard it.

can someone really plan their life around TV that much they they will allow a tv program to stop them eating if theyre hungry? but now sky+ is here, well, hell they can just eat IF AND WHEN THEY WANT TO. thats right, now they are not a slave to TV but the TV is a slave to them and they can eat if they fucking well want to eat, and at a time that eating suits them.

another one had that baldy rough **** from eastenders and also went about in iraq pretending to be a soldier with all the real soldiers or something. apparently it allows his mother the ease of recording programs, its so easy even his mother can do it. whats he saying here, his mother is a complete moron? how hard was it previously to record a program that all of a sudden even his idiot mother can do it? he even makes her sound like the biggest fucking idiot going. all you had to do before was make sure there was a tape in the video recorder, secondly make sure it was set to the right channel and most importantly make sure YOU PRESSED RECORD. want to record at a future time, in a future date? no problem, you can bring up the on screen display. asuming youre not grant mitchels mam you could then choose a day, time and a channel. but you did need to make sure there was a video tape in there too.

fucking hell.

You obviously have never showed someone not Technical or just old sky plus. I used to take my dad about 20 minutes to try to record using the VCR even longer when we got a DVD R. But with Sky Plus you press R and Green and you will then record the whole series, In short Sky Plus is the bollocks and they can advertise Using Sky Plus saved jesus and i would not care ;)

HAD TO record something?

how is tv so important that it should dictate when you eat? one of the most basic functions?!

The adverts should soon be something like this.
"Sky+, Control the Television that controls you."

I think the fact that SKY considers its customers 'sheep' is just made more obvious with that advert. Big headed bastards probably think people will drop pants and bend over for Mr. Murdocks mega news tentacled monster (its what he calls his penis, true story) just because they put an advert on saying they have to.

Say a terroist called up and said record The Bill or ill blow us a bus of School Children id say its more important than eating. Or maybe because you just want to record something you could not bother and eat now or record it and eat after. I hardly think the delay to record something will cause you any harm.

Wow now this is a Murdick is evil kill him boycot sky because hes evil! Sky has the best channels and Sky Plus is free and piss easy to use whats so evil.

Oooh, maybe they work on the Communist Russia principle of television! That would explain the wording in the advert perfectly.

"In Communist Russia, you do not control TV, TV control you!"

sky+ effectively gives people permission to live their lives outside of the fsofa!

its a miracle!

dont you see the madness in tv controlling when you eat?

Its not controlling when i eat but it does give me the option to say i can still watch this show and eat in 30 seconds rather than now.

Example Game of Football netball what ever at half time you put your dinner in the over so you can eat when the game ends. But the games runs over and is about to go to penaltys now you can miss the end and go eat or pause Sky Plus or Record it then get your food. How is that bad how is it controlling me it is just a useful tool.

Course, after all if the can't cash in there DHSS, they can't pay for next months subscription.

Yeah because everyone who watches TV does not have a job and scounges on the dole.

soze, the people in the adverts do not portray it like that.

its portrayed saying sky+ gives them permission to live life as they please.

Agreed ;)

I really should use more smilies to show I'm taking the piss at times.
Sorry for the confusion. Obviously, the whole thing is saying "you can have a life outside of your tv, just make sure you work like a dog for a expensive system so you can watch that useless crap we call 'prime time' viewing"

I have yet to see anything on television worth watching to warrant buying such a system, and even if something IS on, I have a DVD recorder with a timer. Did the VHS age teach us nothing?

They're silly adverts. All these actors are millionaires anyway.
1. Like they need the extra £10K anyway
2. They've all got Sky+ already or been given it free
3. They already know how to use it except Michael Parkinson who's in his 70s

Anyone who falls for the Sky+ ads probably get excited each time a L'Oreal advert comes on the TV. Because I'm worth it ?! Wow ! I must go out and buy £50 worth of shampoo !

I don't seem to have that problem, though that could be because I don't want my time watching TV.

If there is something I want to watch I use I-player, the CH4 version or the "usual places"

Can anyone find the picture of Ross Kemp on the Sky+ Advert?

He is starting to look like Alf Garnet

Why is Alf illegal? Does it come under some sort of racism?

No. Just a big bunch of politically correct do-gooders at the BBC have decided he might upset a few people by the words "wog" or "nig nog". In the 1970s its was perfectly acceptable. To be honest, there's much worse on TV these days. Alf Garnet's rudest word was "bloody".

It's called an advert. Ofc they are going to tell you that you need it, that is the point of an advert afterall.

Tbh I tend to eat at the same time as I watch the TV I want to, it means I can snarf my food down while i'm not doing something that actually requires me to be using my hands for other things such as working. If I didn't watch it when I was eating, i'd probably not have time to actually watch it so..
If I can watch the TV program when I want then i'll watch it when i'm hungry and have food. Otherwise I would probably move the time I chose to eat to coincide with the TV instead. It hardly means that i'm going to starve to death because top gear wasn't on for another hour if I didn't have it tho does it.

I could say the same about people that wait until they get to a urinal before pissing themselves. I mean if your stuck in a traffic jam on the way home, do you say.. fook it i'm not going to let commuters control my basic functions.. ahhhhh.

i dont think you can compare pissing your self to letting the tv control some part of your life.
