Or get a Indian YouTube account and pay the £1.xx a month.

Maybe I'm selling it wrong, this can skip all the bullshit within the actual videos like all the "don't forget to like, share and subscribe" crap.

Sounds like a Firefox extension I use... Youtube users submit advert start/stop times in videos and it skips right past those sections for subsequent viewers. You don't even notice it's working except for the green sections in the video progress bar when you mouse over it. I contribute to it myself when I'm watching a video that hasn't been added.

Edit - oh, Castblock is actually a port of the above.

How do you install this on a Chromecast?
You run it on something else and it monitors the Chromecasts for you and works its magic.

I've thrown mine up as a docker container on a Raspberry Pi.

I just plug my computer into my TV and run youtube through firefox with adblock plus. My chromecast just lets me turn off/on my TV by voice and shows my photos.

Of course, it seems that 65" gaming isn't a thing for all ;)

Interesting. But I don't watch enough youtube for "here's a message from our sponsors" to be even slightly intrusive tbh. I've very niche tastes - mountain biking videos and whatever job I need to look up how to do.

And since I don't do jobs, just mountain biking videos :)
