k is it lame or not to sell them? personally i wouldn't enter the lotto unless i needed it (actually contemplating a respec atm so i think i would) but i seen people from hib/mid on trader forums selling them for 3p+....

now isn't this just considered greed? i mean u shouldn't enter a lotto if u don't need a item surely? people on trader forums seem to disagree though...i think i would probably get kicked from guild if i went in for one when sum1 else needed it and i didn't

I totally agree with you, those stones should only be lotto'd to people who need them.

Therefor I choose only to go on dragon raid with my guild where we decided that stones should be lotto'd by the ones who need it and not to be sold.

But there are always gready bastards that say they went on dragon raid to and have as mutch right to get them so they can sell it for a large ammount of money.

Have you sad losers ever thought about asking someone in guild if they might need a stone and give it to them for free? No I think not, gread over need. :puke:

I'm not playing on Excal, but see it like this :

If only those that need a respecc stone get one, who goes to kill the dragon ?
Doubt there's that many 'gimped' chars running around to bring down that oversized chicken.
On the other hand, if people sell those stones for a few plat, your chances to get one just became a lot better...
in case you couldn't make it to the raid due to RL stuff, or lost on the lotto and so on.
The first couple of stones that get sold will probably have sky-high prices, let's say 10plat+, but the more stones enter the market the more the price will drop, let's say to 3P for a Specc-respec and 1P for a RA-respec.
Not that much if you look at what you have to pay for crafted/armor/SC etc.
And people still have a reason to go on Dragon Raids if they don't need one themselves.
But inside your guild you could (or should?) agree to give the respecc stones first to the ones that need them.

Just my 2cents

Killed the dragon in a mixed grp, I didnt have need for a stone but a guildie had that sadly wasnt able to be on the raid.

I got the stone by luck and gave it to my guildie so he can sort out his char, so would you consider me the same way as "seller of a respec stone" because I didnt need it personally but still lottoed for it?

Hard one... In the eyes of the group maybe greed but eventually you turned it into a need. But that's your own decision to give it to him. The people who sell em are more greedy (focused solely on money). But there will be a time when there's hardly anyone who need em and then those stones are there for anyone...

disagree

as soon as main ppl in albion get stones there will be no more organised dragon raids

by main i mean the main characters who can pull off attracting 100 odd ppl to a raid.

eg, look at the who went on first raid, then look at who got stone then and went on a second ......

I can understand why people would do it, 3 plat is no small ammount of money...

...but then i keep going back to 'need before greed'

it seems kind of... well unfair that one person could go on lots of dragon raids and get no stone, while some guy with cash to throw is able to simply outbid people and get what he wants.

I'm not saying cash farming doesn't take effort, but... well i guess its a confusing subject, And not all black and white...

I can understand why it could be considered wrong to buy a respec stone by some, but on the other hand its everyones personal choise how they choose to spend their online time - if someone wants to spend her time harvesting gold to be able to buy the things she wants then that is in my oppinion a perfectly viable way to play this game. Those that dont harvest lots of gold probably spend their time getting realmpoints (or exp) and hence they have other advantages that the one that harvest dont.
Besides, and i may be wrong, 3p isnt all that much to most 50s thats been around a while is it? It is after all those that's been around for a while that have been stuck with specs they want to change longest, and so its not very unfair in my oppinion that they are the ones that have the best chanse to buy the first stones.

Good luck to all that seek the stones.

I don't think it's overly fair to say people stop doing Dragon/Sidi/Legion raids (now and in the past) as soon as they had some item they wanted...

Tbh I don't care, my attitude is that if the raid leader doesn't do something like aussie did on his first dragonraid (reserve limited number of stones for pre-assigned ubergimps, and free-lotto the rest) then it's only natural that not everyone getting a stone will be someone who needs it desperately, or even wishes to keep it. But there's no point in all the self-righteous flaming after the event.

I think its pretty lame, yes!
the stones should be freely given away for peeps that need them ... these stones shouldn't be yet another tradeproduct .. give them for free !!!

(and NO I don't need any stones for ANY of my chars:p)
