Simple Wireless Connection - Recommendations Needed

All I want is a Wireless Access Point unit I can connect via RJ45 into an existing Switch, and a CardBus Wireless NIC for my Laptop (IBM Thinkpad R40E)

I don't need a Router, Firewall or DSL Modem, just something to plug into an existing network.

And I want the fast 802.11g 54Mbps, all the security bollocks etc, and good Windows XP compatibility.

Any recommendations on what I should get, I have the Netgear WG605 in mind for the WAP, but nothing to go with it on the Laptop, tell me if you have a similar setup and what models you have.

TIA

I have an older (b range) 3Com AP plugged into my NetGear Switch. Got a 3com pci card plugged into another PC's 2 floors down and usually get 40% connection strength. Admin system is built into the AP like most are in its very good. Easy to use etc.

Just to mention I ended up getting a Netgear WG602 (802.11g AP) and a 3Com OfficeConnect 11a/b/g.

Set it all up and in five minutes had a connection, in 10 minutes had a secure encrypted connection allowing just the one MAC.

Interestingly I also got another network close by, probably a neighbour, might do a bit of war driving :)

Wardriving involves pootling around in a car looking for vulnerable LANs, but if you can reach it from home there's no need, just check his network out and if it's unsecured go chalk the symbol out on the road by his house ;)

But war sitting-in-bed doesn't have the same ring to it.

Nah, but it's more 'network stumbling' if that ;)
