Well, one of the girls I was working with today said that my voice would be good for doing voiceover work. Thats the second time in as many weeks that somebody has mentioned this.

The trouble is, I have a regional Lancashire accent, mixed with a bit of 'telephone posh' for professional purposes. When I hear my own voice recorded, I always think I sound like a thick fucker.

Does everyone sound like a thick fucker when they listen to themselves, or is this just me?

I sound like a chav whenever I hear my own voice :( A damning side effect of a London - Bognor move as a child.

I've done voiceover work, too! My voice was in Shakespeare In Love, Love Actually, Notting Hill and some BBC dramas.

You can hear my soothing voice here and here.

These are two of six improvised sketch things that I (badly) recorded for a friend who wanted to do some animations like the 'Soup' ones on www.brianmung.com (site down atm.) There was no script (or even an idea) and I didn't know how each 'sketch' was going to end before I started recording. I guess it shows, too.

Get 'em while my bandwidth holds out!

Or don't. It's up to you.

I sound like a gormster.

Me and the boss were at work the other day trying to get acoustic levels right in the VIP lounge (OneFineDate.co.uk [/pimp!] were doing one of their speeddating thingits there that night) and my boss was walking around upstairs and she wanted me to talk into the mic to see whether she could hear it ok or not. I heard my own voice booming out of pretty much every speaker in the place and it wasn't pleasant. :(

Edit:// Summo, values.mp3 sounds similarish to Eddie Izzard. The way the words are spoken more than vocal similarities. And what.mp3 sounds like my housemate, cockney Chris. :)

You're all wrong the first one sounds like the blonde one from lock stock.

The one who when selling something to nick the greek says 'Fark me! You're haggling over £100 when you've got Liberia's deficit in your sky-rocket? Tighter than a ducks butt you are!'

And I'm pretty sure he said this..'TOM....you're dick!'

:D

nice btw

when was your voice in love actually?

/edit

Oh I was wrong.

1) The character is tom so didn't say 'TOM...etc etc'

2) He didn't say exactly that quote but most of it :p

"Where was I--Bedfordshire--that's a lousy place. It's on the A45--you go around, it's all flat and I can't summon up any enthusiasm for that sort of thing at all. I--my idea, when we started out was to have a, you know, rising up, in the form of an undulating, ovulating ground that you don't get so much nowadays, everything tends to be sort of piecemeal and staggered, which I don't think is really very exciting, do you? Ah--you're not there either."

Most of the links are still working as well. Just got most of them and had a listen.

I used to sound like mank, and that's not in a bad way... I just hit puberty and got on with my life.
Leggy, wtf are you reading some David Attenborough transcription or something? :)
Sar, you sound like a swearing Connor from Neighbours.
Tom, heh, nicely annunciated. :)
