yep, just don't use your card in a petrol station, i know its a pain but just get the cash out before hand (you should know roughly how much a full tank is by now)

Just got a call through from Barclay's, although i wasnt there to actually take the call. Mum said it was the fraud people.

Got their number, called them back went through security. Hes then saying "Have you bought a computer recently?" To which i do reply i had happened to buy one about 4 month ago.

He asked for a make, which i said it wasnt a premade computer i built it up. He didnt understand that, so i tried explaining further and eventually he confirmed then that it was a definate fraud on the account.

They blocked the transaction, and will send out a new card in a few days or so. I never use my Barclaycard anyway, so each month i only had like £5 coming out so it was lucky that such a large amount was flagged.

I guess the only way they could have got the information was maybe scanning through trash, because i never used my card online [As i never had too...]. Guess i'll invest in a really good shredder.

What they tried to buy was... An Apple computer. Like id ever buy one of them :

I withdrew 15000 Rupees from a cashpoint in India a couple of months ago This was done by my local shop (mini supermarket/garage), bank couldn't be arsed to follow it up so police weren't involved. I just got my money straight back. It's a bit of a shitter though as I won't go there now and it's miles to anywhere else.

I did also buy 2 computers in one week 8 years ago - that was quite amazing of me.

I use my credit card for any card transactions except Tesco or Sainsburys (for some reason).

That way if summat does go wrong its not my debit card, and not my money

Odd, I've been using debit/credit cards for Donkey's years, at petrol stations right across the country. Not had a single case of fraud ever.
