So am I the only one not buying Shrouded Isles? :)
I gave up DAoC a long time ago and i cant say im really into it, thats why I wont buy the game.
But since introducing pvp I tend to play so every now and then on Camlann.
I was wondering.. with SI coming up everyone will probably be in the new area I think, meaning the old area' s will be empty from players ( except the ones that travel to the new areas) ;)
I was wondering a few things.. with SI
1. will they stop camping at pk - bridge? and move on to the new areas?
2. will I still see any form of live in the old areas? (if not then no much reason to play I assume then ) :)
3.Can I play those new classes/races without the SI pack?
( ok 1. and 2. are somewhat simmilar)
4. PvP will die an instant death and everyone will go play SI on the regular servers/ move on to Coop server?
5. More ppl come and they all go explore the new areas but eventually will be everywhere and nowhere ( what I hope) meaning ppl without SI still get to see other ppl on the camlann server?

It is technically possible to level one of the new classes without SI.

All you have to do is start the character on a machine with SI installed, and then move the character to a non-SI area. Then you can log on and play it on a classic DAoC account.

afaik the account has to be verified with a SI cd-key, so there is no way to play new classes without SI

Ah, yes... just me getting confused with running them under the different engines.

I've been having graphics card issues with SI and often end up having to level my Reaver running under the classic engine.... :(

I haven't actually tried to go to the new areas while doing this, as I assumed I wouldn't be able to. Might be worth a try....

But that classic engine is linked to a copy of the game that is linked to a copy of SI.

This I can verify that works on US-servers. Never tried it on euro though.

but to do that you need to have activated SI on that account, which needs a new CD key, which you will only get by buying the game.

So why then run the SI char in the original realm areas on the DAoC classic when you'd have had to buy the SI version to create the char in the first place :p
