As for merging with general i think they would have to be asked too, quite a bit of the pointless willy talk would probably not be tolerated there, after all most of them have been using BW/FH far longer than us.

Though a name change would be nice

No, they're not overly excessive (imo) and usually the threads get a good 5pages in before they drift away, the football haters cant really accuse us of making random 1page threads that often etc, besides every 24months theres like 3months without any football, the haters should be contented with that!

Nah, the footie people have been very nice with the whole "please tag" thing, and it's worked wonders. This from the avid destroyer of all football, the archnemesis of untagged footie threads and the s...not saying it here...other word menace of all things "Club"-y

Now we CAN avoid them.

Merging with general would kill OT as it is. We like to be the "back country" of Freddys, the little place that could and we're known for it.

If we merge with general...well...they wouldn't take this lot too kindly there, with all the "silly" stuff and such, and the "personal life" threads we can have here with not too much flame and with understanding people, would not be possible.

Not really, it's all about the people, AS the people, like a small community.

If all these people went to general, they would blend into the mass really.

It's like taking a group of friends, putting them into a big party. They'd be rather to themselves and have a laugh with good company, and not bother with the rest that much.

Ok, how about moving it out of the DAoC section into the main boards then? At least that way the other FH users can see what great little forum this is and contribute if they wish too. DAoC is dead on it's feet and 99% of us don't play it anymore, lets get it moved where it can continue as it is and perhaps even grow instead of it being the only reasonably active forum in the whole DAoC section.

video, football, poll threads, religion, story threads, question threads, game threads, Fao threads, tv threads + lots more

so basicly what people want is for OT to have further branch catagorization ?

Tbh that aint a bad idea...having a lil football symbol to tag a thread with, much like the poll tags.

Voted no though; even though I don't really read the football threads, it's still silly to expect every event to be posted in one thread; it'd just drive people away from the forum.

Videos have a video sticky, FAO threads are FAO tagged, religion threads usually have a "sensible" topic that you know it's religion(if it doesn't go there and is originally), polls have ...a POLL in them, TV threads are mostly tagged aswell, with either season/series/bbc whatnot.

Football was the only topic people fought about "tagging", and the reasons for tagging were clear. A: The topics were "cryptic" to those not interested, and B: Football is the most popular individual topic here.

So, i took a lil "s..." crusade down the line and now people tag footie threads, which as i've said, is very nice and very considerate.

Why change something when it's not broke? Things work now.

I wont tag my football posts, I don't give a fuck if some geek that dislikes it clicks on it. Its easy enough to press back up and not read through it or post in it saying omg I posted in a football thread.
