Should I....

Seriously considering an Audi RS4(2001 shape).

I haven't read many bad reviews about them apart from the sloppy gear change.

Any of you guys have any views on them?

I had a 2001 TT and the quality was woeful. It put me right off the marque.

Whats your budget? There are a great many alternatives that would blow the RS4 away.

I'm biased, but just take a sniff around the TVR Cerbera. Not much would get past that, ever.

I'm quite sure the RS4 is quicker than the TVR. RS4 is 380 bhp standard with twin turbos and the 0-60 is around 4.5 seconds iirc.

I have always wanted one, well my dad always said he would get me an RS2 when he won the lottery but that never happened and the RS4 is the newer version of them. Its all a bit romantic for my dad tbh, still wouldn't mind an RS2 but they look dated now.

Budget is around the MY2001 RS4 money mark, not sure I can say it out loud

I want a turbo car though, not an Evo or Impreza, gone off them and I think the spoilers look a bit sad now. God I'm getting old.

Don't forget I have 2 dogs and a son, my mate suggested a 350z but it isn't practical.

Not a chance of the RS4 being quicker mate. Not a chance in hell, except perhaps in tight corners. Theres a race on the internet somewhere, some Clarkson video that begins with a 5 litre Griffith. Anyhow they put the Cerbera up against a Ferrari, Esprit, 911, Caterham, and a couple of other cars, and it utterly destroys them on a straight line.

The RS4 is supposedly OK, fast but not a particularly inspiring drive, and is kinda prone to bending wheel rims. My suggestion would be a Lotus Carlton. Same price, bit older but SO much cooler.

I found a couple of Auto Trader earlier, both around the same price as an RS4. Only problem was I could only find em on a Nationwide search, so you might have to travel to look at them. Totally worth it tho.

Based on that I suggest you buy a Koenigsegg CCX.

Although there do seem to be good condition Thema 8.32's around for 5-6k. That's not a lot of money for a lot of Ferrari engine.
