shaving

I hate shaving, of the face and neck area that is. Against or with the grain I always get razor burn on my neck, no matter what foam/gel I use.

Any top tips lads? And dare I say it, girls?

Use a MACH 3 and gillette gel, after shaving make sure that you use a moisturising after shave balm to south your freshly peel face.

Try moisturiser of some sort after you shave, something bog standard may help, or one of the various aftershave jobbies - works for me anyway.

Get some new blades? they may be blunt.

Other than that dont press so hard, machs take off a lot of hair even if you dont press a lot.

Shave during/after a shower, make sure your bristles get a good 5 minute soaking in hot water before you start.

I remember shaving my bumfluff years ago, I just ran the razor over the hair lightly and it just plucked it out with no pain. Ah those were the days.

Good advice that.

That's what I normally do - take a handheld mirror into the shower, shaver and simply shave as I shower! No mess! Smooth as a babys bum!

I got a Mach3 the other day, its nice indeed... cept i kinda pushed too hard (used to the old one) and i now have 2 razor cuts on my neck first time that happened in a while...

Afterwards and maybe days later, i get an annoying itchyness... so i end up scratchin and comin out in red marks... grr

I won't learn to wet shave because I'm paranoid about cutting open my jugular, so I use a shitty electric shaver. This means I don't shave very often and when I do it takes fucking hours.

I use mach 3 and gillette sensitive skin gel. I don't get razor burns although i did when i first started shaving around 15 years old. I shave against the grain because thats the only way to get a smooth finish in my opinion . Well actually the place my stubble is the thickest is on my chin, so i shave with the grain there first to take off the worst, then put some more gel on and shave up to get the smooth feeling I always shave before a shower because i find it gets rid of that itchy after feeling . Oh and i can't stand electric shavers, i think they give a shit finish and they take ages.

on the subject of hair does anyone else find themself trying to pluck nostril hair and eyelashes, I'm not talking about tweasers I mean with your fingers.

I wet shaved for years and got fed up. I never really got a shaving rash it just annoyed me that I'd get the odd spot and/or in growing hair.

These days I've got an electric razor and just shave as close as I can with the beard trimmer. Leaves me with a light coating of stubble but nothing too bad and my skin's a LOT better for it.

On the subject of ear/nasal hair I have some electric trimmers. I only use them on my nose and even then only a couple of times a year. I mostly just pull at the hairs when they iratate me.

This is what I do when I haven't got enough time (read: can't be bothered) to shave "properly". Gives me just enough stubble for that "I'm so cool I didn't bother shaving today" look.

I've got very sensitive skin, so I can't shave every day. I find that if i take a day break and just be bristly, my skin is a lot less irritated when I have a wet shave the day after the "break".

I find Gillette shaving gel/foam gives me a rash, even the sensitive stuff.

I used to use a mach 3 razor but it cut too close to the skin and irritated it, so i switched to a schick razor. Means i have to put up with almost permanent stubble underneath meh chin but its worth it. Also has the added benefit of making you look all rugged! Har har.....heh. *cough*

Bic razors are bastards, someone should tell their company that you dont need to slice up your face in order to get rid of the growth. I've found that the Gillete sensitive gel stuff isnt too bad, but if i wet shave i find i dont get it all.
