Shall we start a new forum in memory of BW?

Whatcha think? It'd at least allow us all to spam in unison.

Even though most of us argue, me bets we kinda enjoy it, and if it wasn't for BW we'd have never have had the opportunity to do that arguing!

So, does anyone wanna kinda clone BW's forums? Emb - aint you got some forums? We could gatecrash those

It'd be a shame to lose BW and the general bollocks forum with the nuff massif spamming and arguing that we have come to know and love

anyway here it is anyhoo:

I was thinking on 'how to create a free BW' and it struck me that if everyone who had a server or was on cable/dsl/whatever was to donate a little bit of bandwidth, we could create a "Barrysalike' distributed across all those boxes.

Now I know it sounds a little implausable, but it was the best I could come up with atm. And it's possible too.

It would work if everyone had paid the extra for NON-NAT (Static IP) connections ... well on ADSL anyway. Dont know about cable. Otherwise the IP would change and you'd have to keep refreshing the list to get the correct IP for the server.

Yeah! I'm up for it! TUG should be the administrator, if he wants to, and give other BW regulars Moderator Tags? I really wouldn't be hard to do, but it would involve working Quickly, and advertising it on the current BW forums before they close. It doesn't need it's own server though, not for the time being, so long as someone can find a hosting company which doesn't suck.

Hehe we'd have a few admins cuz I aint got time to run it on me tod... Maybe the present BW guys would be interested? Also BW guys, can we have a complete backup copy of this here forum? Then maybe m00 can live on!

Does anyone recommend a decent FREE UBB style system which aint too heavy on bandwidth? Then we can find some free (temp) webspace to host it on for a while...

Maybe cos im a moderater on a couple of forums on that(including Hardware TUG :>). It's a fairly unused forum (compared to this one) so i'm sure it's owners would be pleased to see some of the BW motley crew spam it's quarters.
