lo peeps i have a question

at respec i found my self in a dilema, i have a kobald Critblade and found myself wondering if i should repsec to a Zerker.

i dont know what would be better, i like the idea of a one hit killer but havn't managed one yet, and i'd like the advice of some of the Sb's out there on which would be best. templet sudjestions are always welcome = ) , also weapon load outs and equipment either temple. i'm not into this 5 spec blade templet, although it is flexable it spreads not alot of points abit to thinly for my liking.

Go soulbladeish I'd say, has to be the best spec around now that poisoins go on resists. Something like:

40 axe
40 left axe
34 crit
35 stealth
20 envenom

Didn't check the numbers now, so you can probably throw some more/less in there somewhere, dunno, but you get the idea

is the melee heavy 5 spec

Those are the best SB specs around imo as you can get near 50 in every skill with RR5 and items meaning your a critblade, SZ, Venomblade all in one, hence 5 spec, doh

The single most versatile spec in game imo.

40 LA and Axe instead of 39, just dont make much sense to me, no styles are gained at 40 spec and those valuable 80 points can really boost your envenom skill. Didnt wanan sound harsh, just it makes no sense to me, soz erl

It's easy...

Get a piece of sheet metal...

Find the template for Death or Azal...

Draw around them.

Get an oxyaceteline torch, and cut out the shape - hey presto! A cookie cutter template!

Just fill in ad nauseum whatever they did and you won't go far wrong.

Oh and don't forget to cookie cutter Azal's buffbot too. Most important

do i really need to spec envenom? with the release o fspell crafting i could get the bonuses through crafted items/armour?

if i do respec to a SZ what weapons should i go for? sorry about all the questions i'm just exploring the possabilities.

i've been told fast la weapon and a high dmg right hander is this correct? again sorry about all the questions and cheers = )

You can only get +11 envenom from items. Any other bonus will have to come from realm ranks wich you have to work for.
So you specc envenom depending on at wich realm rank you want lifebane.

I done a bit of testing with sword in mainhand and axe in mainhand, for some reason i got better damage output with a 99% Qual Dwarven Great Sword than a 99% Qual War Cleaver. But i still went axe cause they look cool

No one can claim to know the best template. I dont think there is one.

It kinda depends alot on the setup of your opponent. Many people have turned 5 spec. I expect to see poison resists to be maxed by most scared of assassins.

If you believe some of the threads on the VN boards the 5 spec flavour of the moment will be hurt by the IP, evade changes. If you believe others it will be mainly sz and 5 spec. If you belive others Critblades are bback in fashion if you believe others the stun meaning enemy cant rotate anymore make la 44 back moves a good move.If you believe others you need higher wep damage because poison becomes high % resisted.

My conclusion is you cant go much wrong with your template. Nearly everyone has gone 5 spec when respec was allowed.

Battles will need to be short again now IP and evade capped. How will 5 spec do over other templates? Wait and find out

I'm led to believe a typical soulblade template has wep damage as below

44la/39CS
44la/34CS

its envenom that suffers. With 44la/39cs and autotrain 48 your stealth would be 34 and envenom 19

The fact is if you make your pa,cd your well in with 44/39 if you miss your PA you probably wished you had higher poison

Also need to remember a RR7 5 spec I would imagine to be a lot more powerful than a RR1 5 spec who will be dead meat to all the other experienced assassins out there.

BTW I have no idea with what the best template is. I think duelling patch will help test a lot of things.

Actually the Sword/LA specc isn't anything bad ... atm it got a little advantage even.

The damage of a Bastard Sword and a Double-Bladed Axe is pretty similiar.
Both 16.2dps and 4.2spd for the DB, 4.1spd for the BS.
So PA damage difference isn't anything big.
BUT in mid-fight you can go for a 16.5dps 3.0spd Dwarven Short Sword, damage over time is the same, but you get a crazy attackspeed, therefor interrupting casts,Bladeturns, reactionary styles.
As an Axe/LA user I still wait for the Weighted Bearded Axe (16.5dps 2.9spd )

right hand : Epic Weap (1h Sword is 4.5spd o.0)
left hand : Arcanium Handaxe, 15dps 2.4spd

For the HA, ask a crafter, shouldn't be too expensive.
Quality doesn't matter that much either for Lefthand weaps.

its not the same.

LA Style damage works off Main Hand delay ONLY.

So with a very slow MainHand weap you hit very hard, compared to a lot less with a 3.0speed Mainhand.

in your example:

(3.0 MH + 2.4 OH) / 2 = 2.7 swing speed.

so your char does 3.0 delay Style damage at 2.7 Sec swing speed.

(4.2 MH + 2.4 OH) / 2 = 3.3 Swing speed

so your char does 4.2 Style damage at 3.3 Sec swing speed.

The maths works out at this: (Style damage speed/swing speed) x 100

127% Style Damage gain by doing 4.2 speed Style damage at 3.3 Speed

111% Style Damage gain by doing 3.0 speed Style damage at 2.7 Speed

16% is the damage loss for using a 3.0 Speed Mainahand weapon as opposed to a 4.2

Never said that Dwarven Short and Double-Bladed is the same. (or did I ?)
What I said is, that Bastard Sword (16.2dps 4.1spd) and Double-Bladed Axe (16.1dps 4.2spd) is about the same.

But a Sword-specc SB has an alternative to switch to a even faster Mainhand weapon in order to interrupt Bladeturns and reactionary styles.

actually dbl bladed axe is only 16.1 dps not 16.2 like the bastard sword. however the slower delay will make it hit harder cause of the reasons solid explained. i am going swords however for beeing able to have a fast weapon for reactionary styles and BT

do a shift+i delve on it and it says 16.2, its wrongly displayed as 16.1 on the weapon.

dont ask me how exactly Axe and LA contribute to damage. Wouldnt mind some info tho as its very significant to LA speced SB who dont have the luxury of 50 Axe/LA specs.
