Shadowblade bg1 spec

My poor hunter is constantly getting ganked by those damn infils in bg1 :twak: ..... Now it's revenge time .... I have a shadowblade on its way but I have nooo idea how to spec it or even how to play it :D Thats where you come in .... He is supposed to be a infil//nightshade killer mainly since my hunter takes most casters and (with a bit of luck) tanks pretty easily... SO.... Any suggestions to spec and equipment (can get almost any)

Oh and one more thing.... We have to stop those damn Oomans from owning us so bad in there.... We totally got farmed yesterday, and I really dont think that making them Oomans cap in xp is the way to get rid of them

comments peeps ?

Been playing around a bit with the char builder on catacombs for a while and this is my end spec I think.

cs - 21 (pa)
stealth - 20
poison - 20
L-Axe - 2
Axe - 2

If my calculations are correct this should be doable when autotraining to lvl 24 (20 points right?)

Anyways .... I need to get +5 to poison and stealth so any suggestions as to what items to wear ?

Tactics would be to PA with 2-hand axe infected with minor crippling poison, then switch to dual wield and with disease and DoT (they stack right?) and garrote away... then run like hell ;)

would the CS reactionary chains be better ?

that's all I have for now... If anyone can answer any of my questions, I'm sure santa will be most generous

Listen up

Ok, guys listen up, having never played a sz before and asking
no questions before hand, dont go less than 24 stealth whatever you do.

I made one and have one and am getting owned sometimes due to being seen way before the enemy (i have 20 stealth).

Also work out what posions u want to use as I am also missing out on the next posion due to not speccing correctly.
( basically I cant be assed to pay out or go and get a +5 envenom item from df /vanern, and only paid 30 sapphires for the +3 glove)

The rest is up to you, but left axe = the damage styles

Its like hunters and thats one character I do know dont go below 24 bow.

With only 2 in axe, your dmg variance will be everywhere, but usually low (I beleive cs dmg works from cs AND weapon spec)
If your after stealthers, go for sz template, you will rarely get a pa off on a assassin.
Also sz template is very good for xping ( i solo'd mine till lvl43 on yellows before hitting lair list :( )
Shadowzerkers really do destroy other realms stealthers at that lvl.
If you use the leftaxe chain i mentioned above you wont need crippling poison, it has that as side effect.

Looks like your trying to make a critblade spec, which is good for casters, but you need to sacrifice something to get your weapon spec up, ideally 2/3+ of your lvl.

envenom items are hard to find unless twinked.
stealth items are easier, fideals drop belt +2, kobold ring from vendo +1, your lvl5 or 7 ring your given from trainer +1, lvl11 cloak your given +1.

As I understand sz is kind of a tank with stealth ability (am I wrong?), and what I want is to 1-2 hit kill them (is that possible?)

I'm not worried about how they xp because the sole purpose for this char is to be in bg1, and when he is capped he will be deleted and a new one will be build

Oh ... He is going to be ubertwinked :D.... Assassins and enchanters//cabalists will be his main targets, but guess I have to read up a bit more on the sz template and stuff ..... Really dont feel qualified to discuss this as of yet, since I never played one before

Oh ... and thx m8

with my SZ i had something like this...

axe 17
laxe 21
stealth 17
env 7
cs 10

i didnt have mcuh troubble with stealth cause if a inf broke my stelath i would kill him for it...

CS 10 is niuce for bs2.. you manage to kill most casters before stun run out. But i think for busting stelathers only uyou should raise stealth/axe and go cs 2...

Cant really remember my Sbs spec for bg1, but I did ok with him....

I think it was something like this:

21 CS
19 Sword
19 Stealth(+5 items)
rest inc. auto train to 24 in Env, dosnt give a right lot but just use a snare poison insted ov dot so when ppl try run then cant do very well :D

Critblade

All my 3 bg sb's have been critblades.
Something like
19+5 stealth
18+4 axe
10+1 envenom
21 cs

If im gonna be honest, no infil/nightshade did ever solo me.
I do mean it, they could get in PA/BS i still killed them. Of course many people in BG are new to the game, so they might not have the proper spec/items. Items yes, makes a big differance, for example DF armor and highlvl +items (600 hp with my sb's/skald's, 700 with my zerker) . I never duelled a hero, but i took most other classes. As an example i duelled a polearmsman (no gimp), we both had 10 % hp when we backed off.

Aye, Crit is fun in Thidranki...

But just dont always go after casters..

yah yah its fun getting death spams from little luris with less/just over 300hps but casters tend to have a few RPs so you will get 4/5 rps from them...That means your stay will be short :(

Go kill some spearos and palagimps

Just capped out of Thid with my critblade.
He was speced like this:

Crit 22+3, sword 19+5, stealth 18+5, envenom 5+1.

Prolly it's better to switch sword and stealth, but it often seemed to be enough with 23 in stealth. Envonom with lowest snare is good enough, to prevent ur "prey" to escape. ;)
1-hit killed casters every 2nd try, often also bowmen.

Only lost 2 times 1v1 against other stealthers. Many stealthers get scared when they get a massive hit by a critblade, and start running, makes it easy for u to finish them off. ;)

Duelled about 20 times, lost 2 of them. So i'd say critblade is very effective in Thid. Duells ofcourse without stealth, so without PA.

Njessi 2h-sword was my obvious choice of weapon.

/Gneijs 24 critblade
Graenit 50 warrior
Zirkonite 32 shammy

21 Left Axe (Use Njessies 1H axe's for 2 x +2 left axe)
15 axe (Use Njessies 1H axe's for 2 x +2 axe)
19 stealth (get +5 from items to get it to 24)
13 envenom (get +5 from items , lvl 15 dot, lvl 18 snare)
4 or 5 cs (for that bubble beaker)

Can't go wrong, you can kill anything in thidranki except armsmen and hero's, and a bit of kiting will see them dead too.

Agree with silverhood spec , u will own all stealthers with that and most other classes solo. Its finding the solo bit thats the hardest.

If you need +env items, you can you can get some +env on Cave Lurker leather, I think. There's also a gem that drops off King Hresvelgr in Varulvham that gives +4 Envenom, but I'm not sure if it'll work on BG toons.

I have yet to try it on my SB.

Using full set df armor mixed with some parts from the emerald moonshone set from svartalfs. items are most df but also shadowsteel orb for hits, darksteel neclace for the +2 stealth and cloak of the bloodwolf also for the +2 stealth.
got 601 hp as sb so im fine

I think items from this mob are level 50 items.

And I _THINK_ to use an item you need to be atleast 1/2 ov the level stated on the item.

Maybe wrong tho

yer but tbh u would want a full player crafted set of armour :) also i think crit blades r the most fun in thidranki. if u want to be a sz in thid u wont instant kill ppl which is y i loved my sb. my sb was able to take down nearly anything with his pa ;)

Critblade.

19+5 stealth
21+5 CS
rest into Axe with +5 axe if you can get it (sc next patch :) )
and any remaining points into env

grab a Mourning Rage axe from Sorrow in Askheim lake and you will be PAing things with what is effectively a polearm.

have seen some stupid PA's from guildies with this and its what my next Sb will be.
