ShadowBane +StarWars Galaxy

With these two online games coming out and with the bad rap that the Hunters have had from Mythic I am seriously thinking of moving to one of the above. With no improvments in the pipeline for the archers as a whole, I think its time to move on to new pastures. I sent off my order for these two today and should get them around 15th of November. If I like either one I am canceling my account and swtiching games.

When the see hidden realm ability came out I lost all interest in Camelot as I could not play my hunter with any effect as the enemy assassins could see me from clipping range, this to me was the death of a so far so good game.

So I am going to give them a try out and if I like em Mythic and GOA can shove this game where the sun don't shine.

I'm off to SWG as soon as it comes out. DaoC was always meant to just be a game to tide me over until then anyways.

Good luck in both games. Daoc is now just reaching maturity. Why would you even plan leaving for games which are'nt even open beta yet? (And you have pre-ordered )

Shadowbane looks awful (and sounds awful according to the sideway reports from the NDA beta testers). SWG looks great on paper, but take all the annoying tossers in daoc, multiply that by 1000, and you have something approaching the kind of community SWG is likely to have (100s of wannabe Jedi pwning with lightsabres all calleds Lukke Skyywalker, or variations thereof)

I'll stick to daoc, at least until both Shadowbane and SWG prove me utterly wrong, or they gimp every class not just hunters.

Btw Mungo, why don't you roll another class?

hmm in SWG all names are gonna be checked and only a lucky few will become jedi's if infact they want to be, you cant chose to become one.

i thought it was possible to become a Jedi, it was just really, really hard.

either way, i'm gonna give it a go when it comes out. depending on how i like it (and how much money my chain of resterants makes ) i might switch over, or i might play them both. i like DAoC and i like most of the people that fight by my side in midgard. and i especially like the people that run into my AE's and give me lots of juicy RP via my group killing them all

defo moving to SWG lol i think what im looking forward too in SWG is the fact it has alot more depth then what DAOC has to offer which is too run around killing and being killed because if you all admit it thats what daoc is just a run of the mill hack and slash.

nah SWG was interested in but losing interest all the time (especially when they keep fucking up my details) Shadowbane hmm never been interested in this for a couple of yrs, gave up waiting now here nothing but bad stuff about it, not really arsed about an old game now.

World of warcraft - waiting to hear some stuff about it yet.
Dragon Empires - have been following this since last year (hell daoc was in beta mode back then) so am hoping to probably move to this game.

All these games i have my name down for beta play with the exception of shadowbane (and probably SWG as my account here keeps getting delketed for some reason), being in a beta test with significantly help make my decision on whether to get the game or not, like it did with daoc.

At the moment they are only on Beta phase 2 so still a way to go I would say

From the story so far on ShadowBane, I think its just DAoC again, by then I think DAoC will be in the kick arse stages of game play, having more features that SB will, so not a lot of point going there. Hang on for Shrouded Isles, thats gonna make the difference.

As for SWG, IMO its gonna be not much more. Sad to think that Lucas is going down the "milk this title for whats we can" road, if this game is anything like the new films, forget it, you cant beat the originals.

Also this one seems to being launched in a bit of a hurry, so be warey.

Sb will be the best or worst game ever. After 6 years of making the game and beta testing for over a year. It Leaves me to think they are getting it right or have it all wrong, only time will tell.
Anyone that says a game sucks before they even try it, must be a moron..

I will probably check out SWG, not too interested in shadowbane but some of the things in it sound very interesting especially like the skill system.

But City of heroes

is what I am really interested in, along with Horizons and Richard Garriots new game Tabula Rasa

I think that it is worth hanging on for shrouded isles before I look else where but I expect we will all just slag it off as thats all we ever seem to do on these forums..

Challenge for you all, find me a thread where the subject is about how mythic / goa have done a good job / something right...

SWG will be "successful" (rake the cash in) regardless of how good the game is because it's star wars. Look at how well the star wars and star trek games sell regardless of how good they are. That said I'll probably give it a look see as a self confessed fan!

Out of the others Dragon Empires looks quite good and I fancy something other than fantasy so will be trying earth and beyond for my sci-fi kick.

Can't see me quitting DAoC untill shrouded isles has arrived at the earliest..great game DAoC and generally some good people/players on it. Biggest affect on me enjoying the game is ceasing to get wound up by stupid deaths or arseholes, just laugh - crack a joke - move on.

nice to see all the ppl racking down on games (swg in this case) bothered to look things up .. but as with everything else its easier to open yer trap and whine than get the facts first

Dont like it .. fine, as we all know its impossible to please everyone. But dont mindlessly yap about it, get something to back it up and THEN rack down on it using the info you found.

Im definetly going SWG. For reasons i do not intend to discuss here, for we all know where threads like this ends up ...

Well if u knew about SWG you would know this wouldnt be the case.

1). The devs have stated that it will be VERY VERY very hard to become a jedi so you wont get hordes of people "pwning with lightsabres" (NB good to see you Can spell light sabre btw )

2). They will have mods and name mods to check on names so you wont get away with Lukke Skyywalker or even
