Question Setting up a Hackintosh

A mate of mine is driving me mad to install MacOS on his PC as his wife uses them at work and wants him to buy her a Mac, of course he doesn't want to waste the money and after a bit of reading he discovered you could run MacOS on a PC with a bit of messing around. Sadly he is useless with computers and so he wants me to do it so he can blame someone else if it goes tits up.

So, have any of you done it? If so, potential pitfalls?

Seems you can run it via VMware as well so I am going to give that a go first!
