getting really tired of ppl that just *have* to bash france in every way they can even when its not their fault....

in this case it was probably not the fault of a french company. still i havent ever had problems to connect anywhere at any time previously to the extent I have had to connect to france.

can you honestly say that France has been a good country to host daoc in? Can you really say that OT (owned by same company as goa is owned by) has provided a quality service? It has nothing at all to do with bashing all things french. Its all about poor connectivity, lag and no customer support.

An example is today, even if it maybe isnt GoAs fault that a company has lost one of their ip adresses, they didnt really bother to say anything about it. They didnt tell us that it had nothing to do with GoA network but that we should contact our ISP or whomever. In fact they told us nothing at all as they are either not aware, not interested or not working.

apart from a few (like what? 2?) major upkeep problems i havent had THAT much to complain about. yes its been laggy as fuck for a while. but name one persistant game provider that havent had any of those problems at some point. i say persistant because CS:S doesent count.... :p

but yes, i agree that GOA can have a tad better support during weekends apart from the E&E. but it takes 10 seconds to do a tracert and another 15 sec to dial the number to your ISP to let them know about it, alternativly send them a Email with a tracert log (wich would probably be a much faster way to deal with it insted of having to pound it in on a clueless helpdesk).

no insted y'all come on here and whine insted of possibly fixing the problem faster then GOA would do as they aparently isnt working today.

u cant just sit back and demand stuff u know. its not ALL GOA's responsability when stuff like this happends. yes they CAN and probably will do it when they find out but they dont HAVE to. they only have to when its OT's or GOA's fault directly afaik.

sorry to sound like an arse but stop rolling ur thumbs demanding that GOA should fix everything and make a effort yourself... (if u have, awsome, if u havent......)

Unfortunately there is nothing at all we can do about this directly. We can pass on reports to GlobalCrossing but we have no formal relationship with them and they are not obliged to help us in any way.

Your connection and all onward routing is the responsibility of your ISP and even though the fault is not with them, they should be able to resolve it by routing you through a different hub, this is what you are paying them for amongst other things.

Incidentally for those who have mentioned concerns about French internet stability, I'd like to point out that AMS2.gblx.net is in Amsterdam, Holland.

agree to some extent, easy to blame all the bad in the world on poor goa when the daily fix of daoc is unavailable.

it ought to be relatively easy for goa to mail / call / fax globalxrossing and ask em why the hell they have removed some of their ips and ask for compensation if its not solved. call it customer care or something.

my isp have rather sad opening hrs, worse than goa.

I live in Norway, use Lyse Broadband and have the same problem with AMS2.gblx.net

It goes up and down regularly, ingame I get major lagspikes and keep going LD. I've just gotten back the contact to Excalibur after 1h 30mins with 'Destination Unreachable' and now it looks like this:
