hi guys

was thinking of setting a personal server running apache with php/mysql for some forums and other stuff, and also have P2P client running on it.

and was wondering what would the cost be and what kinda stuff do i need, i know you can run them off a a PC but im afraid that it will shorten the life span of my pc, leaving it on 24/7

I got myself one of these ancient small form factor compaq boxes for around 30 quid.

Linux runs fine with 128mb and its usefull for testing things out before uploading to my main host. Power usage is also quite low on those small form factor boxes.
