Service Disruption
For the last few minutes, a big part of the Dark Age of Camelot platform has been suffering from numerous random disconnections. Our teams are already working with our host to identify the origin of the problem and re-establish the service as soon as possible. We apologise for the inconvenience.
Update at 7.00 P.M.
The origin of the disruption has been identified ; a router encountered a major issue at our host. The traffic is therefore slightly limited, which is leading to connection difficulties and lag that might continue for part of the night. All servers remain open and the teams at our host are doing everything they can to minimise the consequences of these disruptions. [...]
I got logged in for 2secs there and my character had been ported from one of the beno towers, back to the bridge, and from having 70-100% life. I had 10% and a dot on me Shouldnt everyone have been dced at same time?
[15-11-2005] English Cluster Shutdown
[Update 23 :15 CET] We have just finished tests on the cluster and it appears that the problem has not been solved as we hoped. We are therefore sorry to tell you that the cluster will not be reopened tonight. We wil of course continue to work on this problem and will give you more information as we have it.
[Update : 16/11/2005 11 :00am] We were able to ascertain the cause of the problem which occurred on the English cluster last night. The process that controls all the characters in the game crashed at 21 :08 yesterday evening and this means that between that time and when the server was finally closed at approximately 22 :20 - all character progress will not have been saved. These crashes also caused a problem in the player guild files which led to incorrect data being displayed for guilds in game.
At this time we are planning on restoring the guilds to their state at 6am yesterday and nothing more. Aside from the loss of anything you may have done between 21 :08 and the cluster coming down, there should not be any rollback of characters. This problem is in no way similar to the problems encountered on Prydwen two months ago.
Once we have performed our network and server tests and based on the results, we will be able to provide you an ETA for the cluster being reopened.
Again we apologise for the inconvenience this has caused you and thank you for your continued understanding.
