Last night I woke up at 3 AM in the morning from a constant babbling noise from my neighbours accross from my flat (in the adjanced house). They had a get together and decided to spend the night loudly talking and discussing irrelevant things, while leaving the window wide open to make sure everybody would get their share of the convo.
I had two options: 1. sleep on the couch in the living room and 2. try to somehow STOP the noise. I opted for 2. because my bedroom was much cooler than the living room and in addition, I can´t see a reason why I should be forced to move to another room in my own house because a bunch of unemployed muppets are partying. Nothing against unemployed people of course... just that I have to get up in the morning and go to work and do my share that they´ll get their dole at the end of the month. I called the Police and asked them to take care of it, which they did. But the sweet silence didn´t last long. A couple minutes later, the windows were open again and the babbling, laughter and screaming continued. I resigned, went to the living room, swiched on my computer and wrote some emails. Now I`m feeling like a chewing gum. Hard work atm, high temperatures and not enough sleep.... *eek*
Thing is, since I moved to that house, I had to call the Police no less than 12 (!) times. And I wrote down another 24 occasions of loud music at unholy times where I didn´t call the Police and just let them play. I have no clue what´s going on in the other house, but somehow, all people there seem to be social dyslexics. They don´t give a damn about time and noise level.
what can I do? Am I overreacting? I mean.. I´m paying quite a lot of rent for that flat, so can´t I expect at least SOME respect from the people around me, just like I`m respecting them? Obviously, calling the Police doesn´t solve the problem. Should I contact a lawyer?
Sorry for the whine.. had to get that off my chest.
