Are gamers just getting slower these days ?

In my day we were raised playing defender and robotron where u had to kill about 300 baddies every second and if u were shite a game could be over before you've exhaled your first breath. Nowadays ppl seem to like games where you hide behind a 32bit texture mapped box for 10 minutes then snipe a bloke in the head from half a mile away :/

Action is fun. Reactions are king. I am God !

Serious Sam is fantasic, I had 3 players on LAN (with open internet connex so others could join) with the game set to mega difficulty and infinite respawn

1000's of monsters: it was crazy but its fun, and the cannon ball is l33t lol :p

ah well, each to their 0wn

I liked the SS1 demo but thought this SS2 demo was utter shite.

Sam brings back the old doom feeling, well almost. No longer must you trundle through a long winded level, wondering which route to take like in most fps' nowadays. Its just a clean clear cut way through the game pretty much, only challenge is to kill all thats coming at you, and trying to conserve ammo. Which is what you had to do back in doom days. Sam doesnt beat doom for me in anyway, or even really come close, but its a good fun game and a welcome break from serious games, for a little while. It loses appeal rather fast :/

Until you've mastered the Timmy (or whatever the kid was called) trick on Robotron you know nothing about games you young fools :)
