Mavoric it's fairly obvious that you only signed up this forum account to troll this thread, in fact it wouldn't surprise me if you're the alias of someone familiar who doesn't want to sully their own 'good name' as it were. Either way you're an imbecile who seems to know very little about anything, so be quiet, suck your thumb, and let the grown ups do the talking.

Raghead sympathisers? You really do not have any clue about the condition of the middle east do you?

And don't worry, once I've finished the 4th year of my degree I'll find myself a job.

Alternatively I could take a leaf out of your book and sign on!

Bangladesh. Brunei. Egypt. Jordan. Kazahkstan. Kuwait. Lebanon. Maldives. Mali. Nigeria. Senegal. Off the top of my head.

Hmm... those are certainly the better states, but i wouldnt exactly quote them for human rights records. Arnt they going to stone a woman to death in Nigeria for having a baby out of wedlock (husband died before it was born(?)i think). Sounds fair to me.

Some of those states are also a high mix of religions, there will be a significant number of christians there.

I dislike religion of any kind, and beleive that it is the cause of untold suffering in the world (depsite the good that many well meaning followers also do). I find it dissapointing that the church still has a good say in how I live my life (for example the pubs close at 11 because the church and the moral minority have fought changes in licensing laws at every opportunity). At least most Western countries have at least begun moving away from religion as a central role within thier law system (one thing communism got right), most muslim states have religion as the central and most powerful area of their laws - sharia being the most disgusting and frankly evil of all of them.

I sit next to an ardent christian at work, and i do respect him, because he gains fulfilment and happiness from it, and hes not preachy. As long as people who follow a religion dont try and ram it down my throat, or dont try and givern my life by their beleifs im happy. Unfortunately for many religions this is their central goal (to convert everyone, to make them live under "Gods law" etc). No thanks, please leave me be.

What bloody article?

Bangladesh. Brunei. Egypt. Jordan. Kazahkstan. Kuwait. Lebanon. Maldives. Mali. Nigeria. Senegal. Off the top of my head.

Nigeria is indeed going to stone a women to death for having a baby out of wedlock. Kuwait had a penchant for torturing Palestinians because after the Arab nations encouraged them to exodus from Israel/West Bank they then told them to fuck off and said Palestinians didn't. Quite a few of the Muslim African nations adhere to Sharia law (see the stoning thing above) and this cannot be good.
Lebanon has been a hotbed of extremism from all over the religious spectrum, Christians being as bad as Muslims. Rocket attacks on Israel obviously don't figure on the human rights radar it seems.
As for Egypt, all I can say is don't go there if you are a blond haired female (horror story from a friend of mine). Also a slight child slavery problem in some of these places. Iran has indeed calmed down over the years, but only because a: Ayatollah Khomenei is dead and b: they like Western investment. Besides the President of Iran might a nice enough bloke, but the real power is wielded by the Ayatollah's.

Turkey was mentioned some time ago, and whilst on the whole they are'nt too bad, they were'nt too keen on Kurdish refugees arriving from Iraq during the mid-eighties, but everyone seems to have forgotten that.

Anyway, as Prime1 has already stated, quite a few of these nations, whilst predominantly Muslim, do have a mixture of religions. And when you get a mixed bag, you get compromise.
The original idea of Islam, like the original idea of Judaism and Christianity, has long been lost and instead of celebrating faith, people use it as an excuse and to justify very bad things.

So there you go. Still strikes me that these places are shit unless you're on holiday. Like Los Angeles, for example.
