Seems to be a lot of grey ganking going on

I must admit that when i leveled obli i never ventured out into the frontier much until 45+ so i dont know if this always happened

It just seems to me that whenever i take my shade out in emain to go huntin mobs for xp i always get one shotted by eiether mincers, SBs or anyting stealth

Why do people do this? Surely they cant desperately need the extremely small amount of rps i give them?

Just seems like theres not much honour in killing something thats ridiculously lower than you?

Or is this just the norm ?

All i know is that its getting frustrating for me and its making me want to gank mid and alb greys when (if lol) i reach 50

You're an enemy, and you will be killed in an RvR zone. It's as simple as that, like it or not. You have to accept it and go someplace else or accept the risk.

I don't like it either - only the reverse procs on my armor will ever kill a grey. I've hunted bandits in odins gate often with my eldritch, perfect mob: they try to shoot you with their bows first which makes them a very easy target. Solo'ing orange/red/purples with easy. Often enough someone pops up next to me and waves, so it's not like you'll always die as a greycon in an RvR zone. But still, I'm free rps, so I've died alot too. Sometimes I even killed the one that attacked me :D

It's not fun when it hapens to you, but there's nothing you can do about it really. If you want to take the risk it's fine - I can tell you it's alot of fun to kill a very very purple enemy :D

You kill a grey con xping in frontier, he whines in guild/alliance chat, other enemies come out, more rp's for the greyganker. And dont xp in frontier if you dont want to be killed, its really very simple.

Last time I tried odins gate for exp some purple runemaster pops up and casts nearsight on me. He didn't expect me to do the same so he walked closer to me to start blasting. He got too close and he was dead in 6 casts or so (6 x 200ish dmg). I ran to his body and gave him a hug for the very nice rps.

Then a redcon shaman runs in and roots me. She ran off - then she realised I was only a green/greycon so she turned around. Same routine, nearsight + nukes. Dead shaman. I was like.. wtf?

Then a orangecon thane starts bashing me and casting all kinds of shouts on me... Quickcast mezz, nuke him to death. There was only one short pause between those three kills so I could use MCL and a potion for power.

It was alot of fun - no way I'm changing to mana or void now. Lightspec all the way :) The exp was great too from those three + 1k rps. Then a fg of purple's ran over me and I think 1 shout was enough to kill me.

Exp'ing in an rvr zone is risky but if your're lucky things like that happen... :D

I wint tell ppl it´s wrong to kill greys, but I wont tell em its right either.

but this is the 30´th time I´ve seen a post like this, and one thing I cant understand is:

why do u xp in frontier if u dont wanna get ganked???

give a single good answer, just one.

and the - xp is better answer is useless, of course u get good xp there - because of the risk u take of getting killed

killing grey is a part of the game... it just helps the realm actually ... killing greys stops them from lvling ... or hinders them a bit ... so good job ... keep killing em !!!!

Run into a gray group, pbaoe, bang 8 dead grays

All I say is, revenge for the number of times I was gray and was killed in the frontier ;)

I do mind when my lowbes are in the frontiers - they are legal kills, it is a RvR zone.
I usually kill any grey con enemys that I spot running around in Odin's - although I don't run to enemy frontiers to kill greys, to boring imo.

But sometimes it is fun also - like the other night a blue to 50 infil attacked my 20 BD that was messing around in Uppland.
He didn't even one shot me :)

OK dont whinge about being killed when grey when i have had greys attacking me whilst i am killing a yellow con. I mean come on they expect to just be ignored?

Now i definitely kill all greys as i experienced a little grey ns with see hidden running around pointing me out with camo down and my mincer mate :/ This sux tbh.

Death to all greys.

The way I see it, spare them now and they'll be worth reasonable rps later on. Besides its almost as much fun to scare them a little then dance with em.

If the situration is safe and they don't attack i'll leave em alone, even the greens sometimes, if they attack and don't back off i'll tap em. Have been known to spare a few blues too if there cute, depends on the situration.

Grey killing is a sport.

When you see a grey exping, you unstealth, and you /wave, /kiss... you make sure he thinks your friendly...

When he has pulled again and killed a mob, you /clap and /cheer, and when you have totally gained his trust....

...u hit him twice with detaunt when he has pulled again and give him a nice exp death while you /dance :)

Thanks.

I never kill greys unless I have to. I've been soloing in Gorge for a bit and have seen quite a few about experiencing. I just give them a little wave and let them go on their way. I've even saved a few from being killed by mobs. :)

I used to adopt a very different attitude towards greys when I first reached Lvl 50, even deliberately getting them exp killed. But ever since my little run in with Alrindel once in Collory as shown in this old thread I soon stopped my nasty ways. :)

Was up in odins this weekend ... I made some baseline rules for myself if i see a grey!

Rule1 : Never kill greys
Rule2 : Unless they attack you
Rule3 : Unless it's a Valkyn
Rule4 : Unless i'm bored.
Rule5 : Unless they're a fg.

Seemed to work out ok .

:D

and yes. .helping the mob is allowed :D hiding behind a tree DD'ing grey's mobs is quite amusing :]
