Prodigy headlined the second stage at the Download festival this year, the biggest heavy metal festival in the UK, and got a brilliant reception.

I think it just proves that techno/hardcore fans are closed minded.

Prodigy doesn't play Hardcore Techno. It's more Rock Music with some Electronic Music Elements.

And this Thread wasn't really about different Music Styles and who has the better Fans.

Metal heads don't fight without a reason.

That's just a fact.

In all my yearsin metal clubs, and i've been around them a plenty, i've seen perhaps two fights that were started or involved metalheads.

The real problems start when tech/rap people come into metal clubs and start a fight.

If you really want to have a go at this then i tell you some facts.

Electronic Music has the most peacefull Scene.

Electronic Music Fans have to defend their Music all Day against small minded Rock/Metal/Whatever People. (This isn't Music..You ***** make your Computers do all the work...This isn't handworked Music etc)There was never a Music Style before who had to fight with so much hate and intolerance.

And about the Video i posted above. Yea the Guy climbing up the Stage did a bad move but what the Bandmembers did there (Who were Members of Metal and Hiphop Bands) was the lowest thing they could do.

I have never seen or heard of Rap or Techno fans who went into Metal Clubs to beat them up. And never seen or heard of Metal Fans who went into Techno or Rap clubs to beat up people.


Oh yea and i hear other Styles of Music aswell if it is good!

Eeee I remember going to watch Carl Cox at Mr Smiths in warrington about 12 years ago. He was garbage. Half the crowd left 20 minutes in as he was so bad.

Actually meant that THAT'S when problems usually start, when other genre people go somewhere and act like they were home. You know, the usual non respect for other cultures.

Well basicly it's like this:

Each and every genre of music has to defend itself against others.

Metalheads have their share of anti-satan grannies to take care of, electric/tech peeps have their share of anti-drug grannies and rap people just have to deal with your every day rasicm. Well, not the white rap people...but that's just different

I should've said that "metalsheads fight less" and it would've gone in smoother, i wasn't trying to imply that electric/tech/rap people fight in an exceeding way more.

I listen to metal, rap, electric..not trance though..too much a headache...and i can accept each to their own. Some things are just a known fact and the reason why the techno scene is deemed as more "fighting" is because there are more people enjoying this type of music and it brings the "regular joe" in easier then the metal scene.

Hope this clears up any misconceptions on my postings.

i think tohr your being general here, what alot of ppl dont know there are ALOT of different types of "dance" music to name a few

Prog, trance hard trance funk (a million variations of funk), hard house, techno, house, acid house, electro, chillout, Breaks, DNB

Loads more but just thinking off the top of my head.

Most of the problem i have heard by the hat wearing scum mostly listen to DnB now you see there that thats a very small percentage of Dance.

Thats like saying ppl who eat cheese are idiots, when you mean ppl who eat red leicester cheese are idiots

Well i have to be a bit general, and don't want to be that much, since i know as much as the electric community has their sub cultures, metal has their own too.

Thats all i use to listen to that genre of music i have DJ friends who make mixes for me with the dance side of things.

I dont think i am any less of a music lover than you because i dont go to secret underground music events etc (sorry if this sounds like am bitching i am not i'm currenltly smiling and looking at a pic of Kate Beckinsale)

I love my Dance music (alot of the different genres of it) i also like listening to bands etc (yes on Radio1) if i didnt like them i would listen to something like Magic up north

I have no problem with listening to the Radio - I listen to Radio 1 on most days, especially when I'm driving long distances (much better at keeping me awake). However listening to the radio doesn't necessarily make you open minded - to say that listening to Radio 1 implies that you're open minded with respect to music is like saying that you are open minded to cinema because you watch all the blockbusters.

With radio you're fed all the music on a plate, and especially with mainstream radio, its music for the masses, that isn't going to be at all challenging or pushing your musical boundaries.

Shows you got your favourite genre of music and like others. I wouldnt say i'm an expert any way, but i do like other stuff (radio1 stuff) my dance music (mainly) i even like country and older stuff.
