Guess you have to be a fan. *shrugs*

I'm still waiting like a kid outside a candystore. Just can't beat dragons :)

Guess this is like LotR for a dragonfan.

From what ive heard of the book(s) they are very generic, stereotypical fantasy with no substance. Never been tempted to read them, but that sort of thing might actually work better as a movie so it could be pretty decent.

Does look alright, was never a huge subscriber to the LoTR hype but people will just compare the two. Will give it a watch anyway.

Yeah, it's only 'cause lotr seems to be the "mark placer" of fantasy movies.

Epic scenery, epic music, magic = lotr comparison :)

300 looks good, just hope they don't deviate too much from the true story.
Eragon looks well made, might be a LoTR clone, but how many films today are truly original?

Personally, i'll be going to see them both :)

quiet a bad trailer, didnt really show anything that wanted you to see the movie? like a hint of the story or something? maybe the trailer is purely for fanboys :)

There are no sure facts about the battle in 300, all that known is that an army way smaller than the attackers stood against them and all died :p In doing so they created a belief that spread through area and made all come together to fight the persians.

What people are missing is that this is another trilogy of books made into movies. If every fantasy book a lotr copy? No. So don't diss this into the same category with such extreme prejudice.

Hmm 300... first ive heard of it. If you want a good and accurate rendition of the battle of Thermopylae you should read Steven Pressfields "Gates of Fire". Awesome book.

Accurate in what sense? by all accounts the number of defenders ranges from a few hundred to a few thousand. Each one is then offset by the persians times thousands :) I will have a look at the book although I prefered David Gemmells story on the battle. Druss fucking rocks.

Guess i should have said realistic rather than accurate - its written in a very gritty, matter-of-fact style, while still maintaining the epicness of the scenes.

looks like a fun movie (eragon couldnt see the 300 one) i dont care if movie isnt top notch tbh as long as its entertaining and makes me go whoa at some point, i loved the scorpion king when i saw it at cinema, its not the best movie ever, the script isnt a work of art but man it was good fun and tbh thats what i want, a movie doesnt have to be a technical work of art just fgs dont let it be boring!
