screenshot jumping

someone mentioned this the otherday, I have seen people screenshot jump, but not in any rvr situations, just pissing around. I wondered what screenshot jumping does in an RvR situation and why it is considered bug abuse/cheating.

Does it break mezzes or something?

No, but you can get to places that are otherwise inaccessible, e.g. jumping back up the stairs in df to where the guards are and getting on the roof of amg and such.
I frequently use it to wallbug outta dungeons

Saw it used to clear the amg today - didnt get a screenie as i was busy dying to an inf at the time - but a norse appears running full pelt @ speed 5 or whatever it is skalds get, avoids a few albs and clears the wall in one jump from the right hill - carrys on running - the albs chasing him stand around @ the wall looking confused.

And no it wasn't a lag ghost 'cause they dont swerve from side to side, evade etc.

Wish i'd had time to con him and get a name...In any case ppl do use it - bit sad really - take ur licks like the rest of us and get owned

censi SS bugged when i was in melee with him and 2 shots from killing him. Made me lag right down to grannies because i was /stuck to him and when the lag went he was nowhere to be seen.

wondered what the fuss was... so I tried it with less than desirable results..

Cats. Jumped on the little entrance house thing... then tried to ss jump up on top of the canopy. It kinda worked but then I moved forward and ended up seeing a very beautiful aerial shot of Lyonesse... and landed smack in the middle of the pygmy gobbo hut near pikeys.

I've got a good few guildies who can prove that happened too as one poor bugger had to come from Cats to Lyon to rez me

SS Jumping will make u jump 1.5 times maybe 2 times the hight of a normall jump... i have never seen it used to the extent of jumping a MFG...

yeah you jump twice the hight,
the thing about getting on top of amg you can't i tried it a few days ago to see if i could and you are just inches from getting onto it, if you could get it there, it would be a Scouts,Rangers,Hunters dream and sniping tower if you would like to call it...

the thing about jumping up the stairs in df, you can only get up the bottom step the rest are just a little too high to get up

But yes it is considered as abug abusing for some reason, if it is why don't they fix it like the many of other bugs they now about and haven't fixed like the Bridge bug in Thidranki thats been there for ages and Mythic have known about it since it was first reported back in the days when the USA server first got the BG's

The Hiberian keeps is the only keep you can get into with SS jump Midgard and Albions keeps don't work

but i've never used it when fighting pve or rvr

I have seen it being used as a means of escape.

Some ranger on amg, attacking a caster of ours, I shoot the ranger, who decides to flee.
The way he's fleeing is ofc to run towards gatehouse - with the minor alteration that he jumps ... to the same height as roof of the gatehouse.

no names as i have no evidence - and ofc it could have been lag... although i sincerely doubt it.

In Thid you are able to jump unto the roof of the center keep without taking a Screenie? ist that bug-abuse too? People on the roof can be targetted and killed so i see no problem there....or do I see that wrong?

if they can be targeted and be shot upon it is not considered bug abuse... according to mythic themselves.

Bear in mind he/she had speed on and was at 1/2 the mg height anyways being on the hill..... so not a big a jump as it sounds, but still....

only differance is that the ones on the ground have to get closer to get "in range" to shoot while the ones on the roof can get enemies in range further down the "keep-hill"

You can ss jump on top of the mg roofs.. just ssjump on top of the pole and sprint while ssjump.. tho i wouldnt suggest doing it as you will get reported

Yeh I remember seeing Godofredo(think thats his name) on MMG roof once.
I acted as bait and then killed him in 2 nukes arrows dont interrupt when they hit BT (apart from NPC ones)

Actually they must be damageable by at least 2 forms of damage.
