I have some strange problem whit my comp, the screen turns all black just before i enter windows on load up. Only way i can start up is to go safemode and take graficcard away.. and then restart comp. (this works but its a pain).

Ive tried to reinstall graficcard drivers etc.. but problem is still there... any suggestions ?

Have you tried setting the resolution to 640x480, 256 color. Also check the refresh rate of the monitor is a valid one that can be supported.

Do this in safemode, then start-shudown-reboot.

This can happen on screen if you have:

set refresh rate to high

only use compatible modes, install drivers for your monitor and you might get a listing on compatible refresh rates. most "modern" monitors will be detected by winxp sp2+.
Pretty common for 1280+1024 is 75Hz refreshrate. some support 100Hz+.

To high resolution:

Start with 640x480 or 800x600 and work your way up if in doubt.

Faulty mode detection in your monitor. The monitor should detect supported refreshrates/resolutions. and adjust itself according to certain pre defined parameters. however it is not unheard of that this stops working correctly. rare but happens.

Ok,

You said Screen, is this a monitor or a flat panel. Sometimes flat panels are a little bit cranky.

Also have you fitted any new hard ware recently ... network card etc ?
