In the end it's your choice but IMHO it's much better to spend those realm skill points on abilities which will either

1. Help you kill more enemies more quickly

2. Keep you alive longer

and Mastery of Stealth falls into neither of those categories.

As I say, that's just my opinion and you're entitled to your own but it's worth remembering that RPs aren't as easy to come by for a Scout than most other classes.

Not sure what the exact number is but my infil seems to move at about 2/3 normal speed (roughly speaking) with stelth = level.

You're right about that with the realm abilities thing. But in RvR, I will be in a group, and as far as I know, the whole group gets realm points if someone from the other realms dies.

Anyways, I'm thinking of going the path for Falcons Eye, Mastery of Archery first, then probably Longshot and Volley.

Does Mastery of Stealth bypass or increase the stealth movement cap? Lik,e can I move at 105% max stealth speed?

Hmm, just a browsing here... seems like the same thing I here in hib all the time... Rangers can't get groups. Well, tbh, I've not had a huge problem with it, though I have relied on guildies a fair bit to group in the past, at lvl 45+ it's not been a problem.

By speccing stealth and bow to 50 all you're doing is accentuating your solo capabilities at the expense of having useful grouping abilities.

Sounds gimped too - go for it :p

Scouts are not that bad to solo. Made 42 to 50 solo on aqua tanglers and was grouped maybe 5 times max.

50 Stealth and 50 Longbow is my way to go. At least close to 50 Stealth. No questions. That's my choice.
Edaudric, you seem to have a very sharp vision of "your" scout. Problem is that Mythic doesnt see him that way. Make sure you keep an eye on the game mechanics, the most important things were already mentioned in this thread.

tbh...

i did not have ne trouble at lvling my scout... well not ne REAL problems... i just got groups till 30... (in the past) then we did pygmy hill... till 37.... then i just once got lucky to be a puller at Pygmy island so i got to 37 >> 40 in one day... and the rest went just as easy as i got pygmy groups easier... and at 42 i asked a few times for Tree groups...... did that till 48.... then i got bored of scout... ;)

note.... pygmy is all in the past now..... so i don't know what it is like to lvl a scout nowadays... nor do i want to know MUHAHAHAHA

I don't understand why noone wants us in parties

I'm so confused I keep hearing this over and over again from scouts. I'm 47.5 and from 10 on I solo'd maybe 5 bubs.

I was always surrounded by friendly people (mostly Templars) so the trick seems to be... don't try to convince people you do good damage (it's true our damage can at least be compared to that of a paladin but off course we don't have the aggro controll they add to it)... but find people friendly enough so you don't have to convince them.

Frankly the whole idea of solo'ing in a game where you're surrounded by about 800 players totally eludes me... If I want to solo I'll boot up Max Payne. :p

Keep your shield skill at max (but stop at 42) and announce yourself as a block-bot rather than scout when looking for groups. Scout guard is powerful indeed.

I just discovered that today (nerf my love for my bow)... I was blocking for our main tank and in stead of our healer needing rests between pulls we could chain. I was amazed!

One of the most effective combos I found, suprisingly, was an infil/scout combo. Arrows take foe to 2/3 life (1/2 if you lucky), infil PA's for 1/3 or 1/2 - the rest is a doddle.

Another nice combo after 42 is Scout/Necro ... with slam the necro can powerdrain a red con without the mob ever reaching him. Can you say NO downtime :D
