I usually kill them by grouping with them certain death - they get all overconfident and start expecting things like heals to save them
You cruel man :p

He didn't even attack me, I came out of stealth :p

plus, some inconnu scout nearly owned me with high shield spec and 2xx a hit with his battler, you know it isn't that easy getting spearstyles in on scouts, runthru works best I'd say.

I like run around with nature's shield up.

/face and block everything they can throw at you.

Walk towards em, and then if they are solo, proceed to kick seven bells of shit out of em. Doesn't matter if they ip, shield slam or zephyr, they are probebly gonna die.

Of course if they have a buddy I'll end up pincushioned ;)

That's like writing a book critique having only read the title.

Certainly scouts are the best (by far) archer class in the game right now, this means basicly they're gonna kill u if ur another archer - but remember other classes can whup them and not even get scratched. Example: Valewalkers, no archer can touch a valewalker because they have a style that blocks all incoming arrows to the front arc (not really all - sometimes one gets through but its like 1 in 100) - blocking an arrow does not cause them to be interrupted, and you have insta dot/snare to keep the scout from re-stealthing. Scouts would have a worse off time trying to kill a valewalker than you do, yet a hunter has more chance of killing a VW than a scout due to the pet.

My point being, that yes this game is full of instances where 1 class stands no chance against another class - but that same class is by no means a godmode class - since almost always there is another class that can kill it with no problem - thats the way the game works.

And since he is a hunter, he is prolly not even trying to kill a spiritmaster ;)

Was a reply to censi who think impossibel to kill a sm as an archer.

I dont know who you are, but i do doubt you survived lath and me sniping you. Yes you might have added on us, yes you might have hit us in the back,
but us attacking first no caster survives solo, even fully buffed bd's drops in
a few seconds.

Ofc any caster willing to try are welcome to test.

You 2 started shooting me (Grawen) outside Nottmoor, pet intercepted 100%, ae mezzed you, you resisted but I went for Lathoniel right away before I saw that you resisted, but pet kept intercepting so at 15% or so, he phase shifted, I started nuking you, killed you, mincer+infil added, killed pet, and some RM that ran past (Lokomotiv I think) killed Lathoniels last few hitpoints before I died to the mincer and the infil.

And you should check what I quote before you quote me. ;)

Very true and I think sometimes people do lost sight of that fact. As a hunter I can't kill a decent tank or a properly kitted out scout. But I can kill just about anything else (never tried a VW)

The flip side of this point is that it's kinda nails for a solo player, like moi, in some situations. I don;t think I should be able to kill a tank, say , but I do think I should stand a chance against anything else.

OT again - Does MoS work against assassin classes? I do info on the RA on the Trainer and it suggests a character with detect hidden is immune, and it cerrtainly does seem that way. I'm RR3 and one bub from 45 so I'm playing in Leirvik till I ding. For my final RA I got MoS4 - I can see scouts from a long, long way off now - even the ones woh have MoS3. However, I do have problems seeing Infs/NS.
I was under the impression, from all the ranting, that MoS4/5 basically made it so an archer can see assassins the same way they cn see other scouts - but it doesn't seem so to me...

Any idea on that one?

You get sniped at, you get pet up, then phase shift and close the distance to the scout, then you rip him apart in melee with pet assistance. Melee speced scouts are rare after all. Or you can dance with him while pet closes the distance and you can "try" shooting him when phase shift is gone. Dunno how much he'll block when the pet is on him. I think melee is really cool though:)

I dont recall such a fight, but sure you might have won.
As it sounds i think we might have started to fire from a bad position expecting infil and mincer to add. Often you can pop an arrow in a pet class,
run with pet after you and let known adds do the trick. Offcourse if adds sleeping it might go wrong :)

So you were 2 high RR scouts that attacked a solo sm, and the reason you got killed was that the adds were sleeping? Thats a bit amusing :)
Ohh, and I keep my pet on passive, but it could explain the 100% intercept rate, if you were shooting on the pet instead of me :D

Win some lose some, who cares.

I was around Eras solo when i saw a fg rr 6+ mids, i taunted them and shot an arrow from the swamp and they chased me. I ran to shore and hide while they moved in. Then i popped an arrow in a careless sm's pet who ofc chased me and they realized to late it was a trap. Now that pet agroed guards and they where caught in the nasty swamp given them no choice but to fight guards. So i killed them, ye some albs came and added but they where dead anyway :)

Thought this was about no SM would win versus you and Lathoniel if you got the jump? But i guess it didn't say anything about 2 adds :)

Thats why pet should always be on passive, with attackbutton qbinded ;)

Mistakes happens, ra's might be down but i doubt from a good sniping position
any sm will survive simply becuase pet is probaly dead on first assisting crit.
My cap is 1215 and with relics i doubt any sm pet will survive a dual hit.

Now if we opened fire from close range in anticipation that 2 other stealthers
close by would add, and they didnt its quite possibel we died.
Also either Lath or me might have oppend fire without the other being ready,
putting us in a bad position.
We might even have underestimated the enemy, just firering on a passing sm thinking it was an easy kill.

We die all the time, no problem, but its stupid to underestimate archers, and they have a chance against most opponents if timed right.

You need this small pet called a facehugger. Then you sick it on him, it jumps into the scouts face and crawls down his throat. Then you push the big red button on the remote and detonate the son of a bitch.

1v1 I wouldn't rate your chances vs a properly kitted out vw. I'm sure you can kill anything without engage or engage like abilities pretty easily tho.

Can anyone explain MoS to me in more detail?

For example, does it work against people with Detect Hidden the same as it works against people without? How does someone with MoS3 do against someone with MoS4, stealth skill itself being equal?

The reason I ask is my mate says his SB gets spotted by scouts on keep walls when he's walking round on the floor. But in Leirvik I don't often see Infs and NS from anywhere except melee range. I see them at the same time as they see me but the range isn't the range bonus I have from my MoS (which is MoS4 atm cos I'm just xping there at RR3).

So he says he gets seen by scouts from like 750 range but I don't see Infs/NS from anywhere near that range - I know I have one more MoS level to go but still...

Its a Master Level ability.

Sojourner lvl9:
10 seconds of immunity to everything, at the cost of 50% end and not able to attack while ability is active.
Tho I keep getting nuked couple of times, I'm guessing lag or it doesn't cover spells cast before PS goes active. :/

Detect Hidden on assasins has alil more range, not sure by how much but around 1xx units.

Those Scouts that have FZ are in godmode. Most of them have specced MoS4-5 and will slam - FZ - and kill you. I've had the "plessure" of riding the Zephyr on many occations. Migth be that Hunter can compeate with Pet, SC and FZ, but as SB your really left with few sollution. Only on one occation have I been able to run back to the Scout and kill him. I came back with 20% Hp and killed Stonepony and I can tell I was very pleased.

Alright I realise this is just the level 44 Battleground but bloody hell....

I can take most scouts on and it's either a fair fight or I kick their arse but there's a few that are just ..unkillable.

I just want some advice to be honest cos I'm hiding atm and I don't know how to kill this guy.

He hits me on rapid fire for over 300, crits for about 900 and normal shots for about 500. He's got some level of IP but also seems to have MoS3. I have MoS3 and my stealth is capped. We see each other at the exact same moment so I assume he has max stealth too.......I react a bit faster really, and get the first shot which does f*** all to him. Even if I get the advantage he just retreats away from me to ck using engage (fs) and I can then just /shrug and go rest.

Both of us are using buffbots, mine is TOA capped and I assume his is too. My armour isn't the best but my stats are all maxed out, and my bow is 99%. My Bow is 44+10, Stealth 34+10, and Spear 31+10.

Basically in a straight fight I cannont win. And I just saw him beat the crap out of a 44.5 Thane in melee..

How can I kill him? :(

Well the thane part was me, if i'm correct :p Well it all depends of your spec, i was 44.5 with 29 Slash, 35 Shield, 20 Stealth, 42 LB, Aug dex 3, FE2 (more crits), and mos 1. But i didn't kill him tho, cause npc + hunter + NS added :\ Can't evade that much, or block :\ Tho, tbh the thane didn't know very well how to play. I was stealthed, landed my side stun (MAngle not slam, very different), side slash styles, than AS. With a lil of going through him and face, he almost didn't hit me, but the adds were just too many. And i wasn't buffed, nor i had resists, i just got a very nice dex unbuffed (220 if i'm correct), and FE2, which improve a lot my bow dmg :p

If u're Phillip, than u don't have much to whine about, since u have tons of stealth and MoSx (like many other hunters), cause u always crited me, while i was stealthed, and never saw u in stealth :\ With that u killed me lots of times. And only one or 2 scouts there r buffed, most rn't. Seing by your spec, and knowing u r heavily buffs, u're maybe the Archer with more capability to kill anything :\

Just lvled to 45.5, specced in bow (45) got RF2, and a RA added :), its called Sureshot, how does it works ?

Yup, I'm Phillip. :) Sorry for all the times I killed you... must be into the dozens of times, but that goes for everyone there except one or two people.
It's not a whine about scouts btw, it's just a few questions that I had. On the whole I'm totally dominated Leirvik with my toon, mostly down to an insane level of stealth and MoS3.

The thane bit was Bowdealer, and he's the one who was stupidly hard - I think I got him as much as he got me. In the end though I think he had MoS3 too, and IP1 so he was hard to kill. Though I did kill him a few times right after posting this. Best way I found was to just find him and crack him with my spear. Also think I'm the only mid there with a buffbot..

Can you imagine the PMs I get? :(

Sureshot is an active ability, so you press it and your character draws a shot and then fires as normal - It's got the same range as normal shot, and the same damage as a non-critical - but it goes through all bladeturns for max damage.

The more you put into it the lower the re-use timer.
