Hi der, my first attempt... anyone have suggestions for improvement please do share your thought. Also if anyone notices an item with wrong stats, please tell.

Notice that i am not trying to make an wicked template, pretty much all of the items should be quite easy to get, even tho gsv is an asshole to xp.

Kurik ... you are seriously TEH S00k at making templates for a Scout.... simply DON'T!


to help U, cap the stuff that a scout needs the most, LongBow for instance is left @ 8, why? It's the most essential weapon that a scout has and therefore the MOST important skill to cap.

No need to cap shield, but Melee (Slash/Thrust) should be @ minimum 8 when wielding S/S.

I have a half sensible template for a scout which includes the following artifacts

GSV
Winged Helm
MSG
Golden Spear\Battler
Cyclops Eye

The bow can be pretty much any although its designed for use with either Braggarts, Bullhorn or Whispering Wind.

All resists are 26% (Including racial bonuses), Longbow Stealth and Shield are 11 and Slash\Thrust is at 2
Dex cap is 26 (23 with braggarts)
Archery Speed is 9% in bow mode
Archery range is 7 base but 10 with Braggarts
Archery Damage is 4 or 7 with Braggarts

Dex is 100+
Con is 75
Quick is 64
Str is 66

why the fuck do u want all magical resists as a scout? Its only needed for regular grping, I guess thats what you folks do with urs... And I doubt you need full qui, aslong as you hit softcap aye

Studded is weak to cold & matter legendary weapons (5%) so those resists should be fairly high - being attacked by other stealthers using these wont be too uncommon.
Its also weak to energy (belt of sun weapons) which will also be fairly common.
Every random stealther has heat legendary weapons it seems: so thats another resist to take to a decent level (although those with a clue should switch to cold vs scouts)
Body resist needs to be fairly high: assassin poisons/debuffs

That leaves only spirit that isnt too important: which is another resist many many people choose not to cap. For that reason I expect plenty of folks will (eventually) start using spirit weapons - so the sensible scouts will keep that fairly high too.

Thats why :) You dont NEED to both with resists at all, but with TOA magical resists are just as important as melee resists for stealthers.

Cause it is also nice to be able to attack a solo caster once in a while (never really happens, Hibs and Mids to not leave the tk's solo, Albs should not do it either, but frequently do). But in the comming keep defenses magic resists will be pretty important again. Getting a decent toa temp for a scout is pretty hard, due to the limits of 2h weapons not getting 2 times the embue value (which they should if things where logical). Also, you want a longbow with mucho longbow on it, while the shield and sword should have all the +shield and +slash/thrust and most of the +str really.

How much should those Zahur rings go for then? Damn nice stats, and I'm struggling to find a decent ring besides the Seven Souls one. There is one on the CMs for 50p but somehow I don't think thats an accurate price ;).

Thats why :) You dont NEED to both with resists at all, but with TOA magical resists are just as important as melee resists for stealthers.

Lets see, a scouts target would mostly be a Hunter/SB/Ranger/NS.
Lets look at excal, you wont be seeing much of NS's or Rangers, if you do, its Censi's 4man crew which you wont have much to do against either way.
99% of the SB's dont use Belt of SUN wep. Why? Cause heaters are far more needed since their primary target is yes, INFILS. ( Most use heater mh n croc/battler/malice/traitors dagger in OH)
They use heaters, ive seen 1 use cold and 1 use matter(jox).
So what weps does the hunters use? If you look at ur opponents, most use either heater weps there aswell or Golden Spear etc.
Why in hell take resists that you might need 1 time each week? Fucking useless if you ask me, rather spend it on smth else that might actually change ur char significant against the targets ur fightning.
Body/Heat/Thrust/Slash/Cold(occassionally) is wuts is needed.
Dex cap, archery bonuses and melee bonuses is what you need for ur template. And once again, if you wanna start bothering about all resists being maxxed, hey, just go with ur pre toa template for those times u actually meet a solo caster , WOOOOOO. And actually, if that caster can play, ur dead either way, with resists or not.

yes the legendary roll hack that won me all the items i rolled for on your raid today :( i didnt even rollhigher than 400 .

my DV groups are v small (4-5peeps MAX) hence 4-5 hours farming brings in a LOT of scrolls and also a higher chance to win th uber scrolls.. but in most cases 4-5 hrs of dv in a small effective group . ussually brings in muliple uber scrolls. hence multiple scrlls each... hence LOTSA cash :)

read a few forums where peeps are complaining about quick cap and want it to be higher to maybe in future patches the cap gets raised.. i doubt it but as said quick was on items so i added it :)

im actually trying to make a template with capped dex cap and few toa bow bonus' so i can use any bow. i know im gonna hve to sacrifice maybe the +shield or summin else but i would like to be able to swap my bows to any bow i want without losing important stats/resists i'd need.

qui still affects evade over 250 (if you aren't capped @ 50%) afaik imo tbh iirc

also hear alot about this '250 softcap' thing, but yet to see any logs or tests ever on it ... maybe i dont read VN rogue boards often enuf :confused:

hp = omni resist

really dont understand stealthers not making full use of the 400hp cap
