Scout Questions

What is THE scout spec atm?
What does scout auto-train in?

Auto: Longbow

I'd recommend 50 Bow, 25 thrust, 30 stealth and 42 shield tho.

My current spec is (Christel, lvl 50 scout):
40 longbow
42 shield
35 slash
35 stealth

The only really variable parts of a scout spec are imho:
longbow (I would have prefered to go 50 longbow, but not really good solo spec)
slash/thrust (could go 29 in slash/thrust, do you play with a buffbot, do you play grouped or not?)
stealth (wanna group? Drop stealth, wanna be stuborn and solo, 35 stealth will do the job fine, see hidden is pain allways).

I have a lvl 38 scout... currently specced

38+2 Longbow
37+4 Shield
1+8 Thrust
6+4 Stealth

As you can see I have not specced thrust or slash, I dunno if I should spec slash or thrust? Can someone advice me what I should spec?

u dont specc a scout, u run to infil trainer instead.

mine is Saracen, Yes Slash(give respec for briton slash or sumthing maybee dunno), 46 LB///42 shield///33 stealth///29 slash


40 LB and more in slash would rock more imo

i have same spec as sniper.. 46 lb, 29 slash 33 stealth adn 42 shield and i must say i like it ... with decent buffs you hit quite hard and do very nice bow dmg

Are you sure thats right Wild? Cos I have 46lb 29slash 33stealth 42shield....... did I get more spec points than you?

Anyone find this stupid? I guess 3+11+rr should be enaugh, not like I'm going to run around and hug the enemy in stealth..?

No, why would I be joking? I think it's the best u can get out of the solo scout these days. However, a groupscout would ditch stealth fully ofc .

Thinking of respeccing to thrust (saracen scout) and getting no stealth at all when I get a respec stone. Mythic did screw over the archer classes pretty badly, but with the spec I gave you you can still do fine in group. You can block and slam away, protecting casters, and you can team up with someone to take down casters pretty fast (still talking gimped, cause a caster would do it faster.... ).

The way Oaklief is talking it seems patches 1.62 + 1.63 are the ones to watch.

I would like to stay positive also Loxleyhood, but Oaklief has been seeing that for a long time (watch the next patch).
Mythic doesn't seem to care really about archers
Ah well, off to money farming so I can buy some mp gear for my scout, to hopefully ungimp him.

Level 35 BG3 right now with mine (Saracen) :-

Bow : 35+8
Stealth : 25+8
Thrust : 22+8
Shield : 8+3

Aug Dex 2, going for Aug dex 3 by the time I leave bg3.

Usually solo. Have done so for the last 11 levels or so with the Scout.

Kills yellow con mobs easily, they hardly ever reach me, if they do, easily taken with a few sword swings. I usually take orange cons when available though, for faster xp, no problems.

Fully capped stats with SC armour, but using a dropped sword from the cook and currently a grey con shield from Keltoi (lol) can never find a WC! Crafted bow, 99% Stonewood longbow, again SC'd.

In bg3 I do just great, very happy at the minute considering all the nerfs, hoping that something is done in an upcoming patch.

Final spec @50 I am undecided as yet, but will probably be something along the lines of :-

bow - 43
stealth - 32
sh - 42
th - 34

I don't find any spec stupid, you go with what your happy with, and what suits your play style. As long as your happy with it, who cares?

All have +13 atm also

I luv the lev 50 shield style (Brutalise) as it is exactly what it says 'Brutal'. It has a 8 second stun, is low endurance and big damage.

As for the low thrust spec it works out kinda nice since beartooth is the lev 16 style (requires block which i do alot).

I am very happy with this spec atm
