That must have gotten your attention, this is not a "scouts get a new weapon next patch" thread or something ;)

I was in bg3 today and one of the scouts in my group was shooting arrows at an incredible rate, it actually made think of a machine gun, hence the thread titel.
The delay between shots must have been around 1 sec (1.5 sec is cap ? or only for melee ?) , is this something that can be done with extremely high quickness or is it some RA or normal skill ?

I was thinking on making a "battle scout" instead of the usual "sniper scout" and if this "machinegun mode" can be easily learned that just might intrest me enough to make that scout.

Rapid Fire... ability you get the higher you spec the bow. The first Rapid Fire ability is at 35bow, and second is at 45. You shoot very fast but you lower your dmg.

Just makes you fire at about cap or so.

Only diff between 35bow and 45bow RF's is end cost, but ofc alil dmg gain from the extra bow spec.

I do around 150-280 on different targets with 40+14bow, 5.5 PC bow.

Its nice for interupts and getting last few shoots to kill someone. :)

Rapid Fire

The three Archers now also receive a new ability called "Rapid Fire", which allows them to release their bow shot before the normal bow timer. Here´s the details:

- When an Archer has this skill, at any time after halfway through their normal bow timer they can release the shot.

- If you release the shot 75% through the normal timer, the shot (if it hits) does 75% of its normal damage. If you release 50% through the timer, you do 50% of the damage, and so forth - The faster the shot, the less damage it does.

- Rapid Fire shots takes the same endurance as a normal bow shot, but do less damage.

- Archers receive Rapid Fire 1 at 35 specialization level in their particular bow skill, and Rapid Fire 2 at spec level 45. The difference between the two is how much endurance they take - RF 2 takes less endurance than RF 1.
