Well, with Zinedine Zidane today saying Gerrard is the best player in the world, the scum's dirty little granny-fucker Wayne Rooney admitting he hates LFC and the big match less than 24 hours away I thought it fitting to partake in a bit of manc spanking!

So, which of you dirty mancs are labouring under the illusion that you're going to do anything but lose tomorrow in your theater of D-Ream? :D

For the record: 0-3 :p

TBFH, even when we were ahead I didn't think we were capable of the title this year - both you scum and Chelski have much more strength in depth, but then that comes with spending 200m+ on your squads to our 130m. Couple of decent wingers and another top class striker and we'll piss on you tho. :)

However, tomorrow you're going to get shat on :D

Edit: Just as an aside, we should put where we're from in our posts ;)

I think you used up a lot of energy demolishing Madrid, and Torres ankle did not look good at the end, despite what he claims. You are right that you have no depth in your squad, but neither do Chelski really. That comes from Benetiz buying players just for the one season and upgrading them later - he doesn't seem to like developing players, and is never happy with what he has.

The best you can hope for tomorrow is a draw, barring Gerrard and Torres I do not feel you have a superior player anywhere on the pitch.

I think Benitez's buying strategy is such that he has to take a punt on cheap players (we've not spent more than 2.5 million on a right back) and then moving them on if they're not up to it. He does well in that he seems to sell them on at a profit tho.

As for energy, Madrid was Tuesday night so we've plenty of time to recoup. He likes 3 clear days for his players and he's had that.

The best you can hope for tomorrow is a draw, barring Gerrard and Torres I do not feel you have a superior player anywhere on the pitch.

Alonso's better than Carrick (or when he's back, Hargreaves). Carra's a better defender than Ferdie - he offers less going forward but at least he can concentrate for the full 90 minutes and isn't a liability. Our keeper's better too, and who've you got that's better than Mascherano in the centre? :p

Anderson is capable of being better than Mascherano and loves playing against Gerrard :)

Carrick I am still undecided on, but Alonso is just as hit and miss. Carragher is not better than Vidic as an out and out defender, and Ferdinand is technically better.

As for Benetiz's sepnding policy, it's been guided by the clubs lack of financing and all the infighting and bollocks between Parry-Hicks and Gillett.

But he's not better than Masch, and I daresay Gerrard loves playing against Anderson ;)

I think Carrick, Hargreaves and Alonso are reasonably comparable, but Alonso, on song, is the best passer in the league and this season (after the kick up the ass that was the rumour about selling him to Juve) he's been outstanding in 90% of his games.

Carragher is not better than Vidic as an out and out defender, and Ferdinand is technically better.

Carra is better than Vidic as an out and out defender IMHO. Although I'll admit Bentiez wanted to buy Vidic but Parry said no. Ferdie is "technically" better than most defenders, but he's only got 87 minutes in him in any 90 minute span - so he's a liability :)

This is true. Hopefully we'll get some better owners :)

I know you and gaff will probably not venture there, but the DAoc OT forum is fantastic for football discussion, with a long standing thread for premier league and champs league games. :)

It doesn't really matter because United have a better centre back combo and are MUCH better than Liverpool along the flanks.

I think Carrick, Hargreaves and Alonso are reasonably comparable, but Alonso, on song, is the best passer in the league and this season (after the kick up the ass that was the rumour about selling him to Juve) he's been outstanding in 90% of his games.

The best passer in the league is Paul Scholes. You wouldn't have guessed it after Wednesday's performance, but generally speaking his passing is awesome. He's the midfielder's midfielder. Can't tackle for shit of course...

Nah, sorry, you can't back that up all. Vidic is probably the best Centreback in the world right now, and the Vidic/Ferdinand combination is the most effective grouping anywhere. This isn't really a matter for debate; the results speak for themselves; 12 goals against at this stage of the season just doesn't happen if you're a "liability". And Carragher's not exactly unknown for his mental aberrations anyway.

Ok, here's some facts about Rafa's spending, they pretty much prove he's shite considering how superior Utd's squad is.

When taking in to consideration the money spent on players and the money recouped, there is a difference of just £24.2 million between United and Liverpool since the summer of 2004.

The season before Benitez took over, Liverpool were fourth in the league. United finished just one place above them that season.

Liverpool trophies since summer of 2004: 1 Champions League, 1 FA Cup,
Manchester United trophies since summer of 2004: 2 Premiership titles, 1 Champions League, 1 League Cup.

So, there is a difference of just £24.2 million, an average of just £6 million a season, and Benitez wants to know how he is supposed to compete with United? The diffence in spending between United and Chelsea was far greater in the years leading up to our title win in 2007, with Abramovich splashing his cash at a rate United simply couldn’t compete with. That didn’t stop us from competing with them for honours though.
not my quote, stole it from another forum

I agree that Vidic is the best centre back in the world at the mo. Not the best out-and-out defender tho IMHO (which is the point I made).

I'd also agree that Ferdie-Vidic is the most effective combo in the league at the mo. But it doesn't mean that ferdie doesn't "switch off" now and again. I've seen it this season :)

lots of stuff

I won't dispute the figures in the article (though I might have cause to) and I will agree that net spend is a much better analysis than gross. But it neglects the following facts (using those figures):

Ferguson has spent £106 million on improving a winning team
Benitez has spent £82 million on improving a bunch of losers

Ferguson also has the most home-grown players in the squad. He's been there for a lot longer than Benitez, so you'd expect that. But what it means that Fergie has a long-established core that he gets to augment with very expensive (20m+ isn't uncommon) signings.

I'd also like to quote you something from another website (and I've added £10 million to Liverpool from the guys figures because he admitted later he'd missed something):

The most expensive squads (excluding players out on long-term loan) are as follows:

Chelsea £207m
Manchester United £206m*
Spurs £188m
Manchester City £140m
Liverpool £137m

(*£226m if Carlos Tevez's deal made permanent, given that it is initially a unique two-year £10m agreement, and very different from 99.9 of transfer deals. Effectively United are winning games with a £30m player.)

What is most striking about that is how SHIT spurs are :D

I do not see you playing Babel as anything but a sub if the chips are down, not against Ronaldo / Giggs / Nani / Park / Evra. Any of those would give Babel massive problems if they were facing him.

You are very much playing a different team though, this is United in the final stretch, chasing titles and at full strength, with a lot of self belief.

As a Chelsea supporter I personally feel Man Utd have had this title in the bag for a while, Liverpool have looked too inconsistent. As for Chelsea we had too many of our core players injured and we stopped doing the one thing we were legendary for in previous years, being unbreakable at Home.

The expensive squads quote is interesting but it is over a time, most of Chelsea's expense was in the early days.

It'll be an interesting game, even if Liverpool won I still feel Man Utd have the title in the bag because that would mean they were still 4 points ahead with one game in hand and only two real games that might prove a little bit difficult against Aston Villa and Arsenal.

That is true - but the values expressed are the current values of the squads.

But yeah, mancs prolly have it. I can't see fergie doing a keegan...

I'm listening to the game at work, sounds like a very entertaining game to me. I wish the Beeb would sack that pedant Alan Green, the man is so bloody miserable he makes me feel like slashing my wrists. Argh!
