Scott Pilgrim vs The World

Went to see this last night (apologies if there is already a thread). Was a really great film. They pay homage to alot of computer games and it was so nice to go "ooh i recognise that" etc.

The ending was a little bad, but the rest of the film makes up for that.

ah crap lol I was going to see either this or 'grown ups' w/adam sandler and went to see the sandler one...which was fine until they put all the mushy sentimental 'we all love eachother' crap in it

Saw it, at first thought it was another boring modern "comedy" ala pineapple express etc, then whoo boy. Great movie

Odd.

A colleague at work referred to it as wierd today. To me, its offbeat at a stretch but so based in mainstream culture and many, many modern bits 'n' bobs I found it hard to get my head around thinking of it as wierd.

There were certain shortcuts for example such as the way the fight scenes happened without any kind of superhero buildup that in other movies takes at least 2 prequels but that was to me refreshing. But not wierd.

I found it to be good on few points, but the main ones are; it was consistent in what it did. It didn't drop the game thing halfway through(like zombieland).

Also it didn't stretch things out for hours. Yes, we know, she left, you hurt, get over it and on with it. Exactly what happened.

It was a surprise that there were manga style fights along the way, but it fit like a glove, since it's a manga style movie anyway.

it made no sence, had a properly flimsy story line that isn't even explained i spend the first hour like..... so wtf is this film acctaully about?

i didn't laugh once in what was meant to be the funniest film ever

the fight scenes were pretty cool, but just really odd

didn't even finish watching it, thought it was TERRRRRRRRIBLE

the other guys is hilaroius tho

go watch that instead

Story/movie made sense completely. It's entertainment.

Don't know how funny it's supposed to be, but it has comedy aspects to it. Well, in modern day comedy it doesn't take much(compare any movie with seth f*cking rogen in it).

Action solid(better then most action flicks around).

Ofcourse if you don't like anime, it's gonna be a useless movie for you.

Glad to say so, I was crucified for going yelling for fucks sake, hurry up and finish when his clone comes out at the end, tried to watch it again and fell asleep after 20 minutes. It's a garbage quirky film that 'you must like or not be cool'.

Anyhoo, calling people geeks etc for liking a movie, or claiming it's a cool thing to lik eit, is silly.

i like alot of films, but this one just didn't sit right with me. Didn't feel like a complete article. Not my sort of film but hay thats the beauty of cinema.

Guess if you only saw the gimmicks as the mainthing, i could see how you'd dislike it. But yeah, don't have to like it at all.
