I've actually been realising this recently. Is rather depressing. Ah well, things change; often for the best.

I think some things are just for the best. I really liked my school mates, don't get me wrong, but thinking about it, they shared hardly anything in common with me. I liked Metal and cider, they liked vokda and oranges and going clubbing.

Uni kinda brings like minded people together, I reckon.

People don't like you, yet you claim they are crying because you aren't there? I bet you'd love that, everyone noticing that you are not there, and actually caring about you. Something you craved from your peers that you didn't get when you were younger... I sense resentment.

Get over yourself, take your head out of your own arse and realise that they couldn't give two shits whether you come or not - they are just trying to organise an event that will be fun for everyone and you should be grateful that they are inviting you. Let's face it, if you weren't liked or didn't like anyone, are you really goin to be missed?

Please, take your head out of your own arse. If you don't want to go, then don't. Let those who actually make an effort to be nice to people enjoy themselves.

PS: I know I have a rep for trolling but this is honestly the way I feel about his/her situation.

I wouldn't bother going to a school reunion. 90% of the previously-untouchable girls are now heavier than me, and all the guys have four kids and 3 missing teeth. I'd stick out like a sore thumb, kinda like what I did the first time round - being tubby and unpopular hehe =)

Please take your shitty psychiatrists report and go wipe your arse with it ty. Read what it says and do not interpret it for anything other than what it says. You talk shite from the first moment you touched the keyboard on this, sorry if you don't like what I am saying but you killed yourself tbfh. Read the thread and see how many other people agree with me on this and then get the general feeling that there is alot in what's said and go wave your dick some where else kthxbai.

am i the only one that was quite popular at school?

i'd go back for a reunion definitely, i miss my friends from school, the people who i didn't get on with, i probably still won't get on with, but i wouldn't be going to a school reunion for them.

Its strange I was reading the reply's and thought "I would be up for a meet" - if only to catchup with people and exchange story's of the old times.
I wasn't the most popular or a lady magnet, but I wasn't a follower/with the crowd. I am on Facebook and I've met with people I hadn't seen for 15 years. Strange. It is nice to catch up with people that 'knew' you before you changed.
Of course there are people I didn't get on with (of which only 1 is alive now anyway) but it is still nice to hear of people and how much they changed over the years, a lot of the 'rebel' bunch are now teachers/gym instructors, the sensible crew are Night Club DJs and (most strangely) alcoholics (one that lived near me got admitted to a hopsital by his parents last week!) :(

Anyway, I for one like catching up with people from my past, its interesting to see the choices people have made.

If you don't want to go, don't make excuses, just be honest and say its not your thing and your not interested.

Thats subjective because i was very popular within my group of friends but there were more popular groups of kids than us. So i felt popular even though to some i was a no body.

I wouldnt of thought myself popular but i did get on well with every different group. Even if my closest group of friends didnt get on with the really chavvy people, i did because i knew them from primary school.

I'd happily go to a reunion but it's only been about 4 years so there's no point yet. I see a lot of people in the park or a pub every now and then anyway. And i'm still really close with a group of about 15 from school.

God I hope you're right because I'm F'ing sick of listening to lots of my current friends talking about football and shit all day. I do have metal friends but most of them don't go to college with me.
However there is nothing wrong with vodka.

Bleh, whiny git. If people/mates etc were all the same the world would be a much more boring place.

Judging by your heated and emotional response I guess I was right. You aren't going to change my opinion and please, don't make me out to be the idiot in all of this.

I wouldnt go to one, not because i dont like the people i went to school with, some were orrible little buggers that bullied me silly but i lived, its more because of who i turned into when i left school (for about 3 years i followed the wrong path) and now i am completely different but to see people who might know of how i was then and remind me of it actually hurts me.

but if i was asked to a school reunion i'd simply say no thanks i dont want to go and leave it at that, i've learned that if you make excuses and try and explain yourself people try and see round them, its just best to be blunt (dont have to be rude just be straight).

Most of the people you didn't give a shit what they were doing at school, why would you be even remotely interested in what they're doing 20 / 30 years on ? I am very close mates with a bunch of people I was mates with at school, everyone else can bite my shiny metal ass

Hey I'm not saying I don't like them, I'm just saying they all have something in common with each other that they talk about 24/7 that I'm not interested in; would be nice to talk about something else for once.

It's funny, kind of a by-product of this thread, I've decided to contact some old school friends and go out and catch up.

You said I was heated, no one else did, and frankly, you can't see anything from you are sitting tbh, I type words, not hatred. A sentence is exactly what it says, and no more.

If you have a problem with that then I suggest some group therapy or counselling and perhaps you might actually see it for what it is :p

I have it something the same way.

I was to a 10 year reunion about 4 years ago with my high school class. I disliked most of the people in that class when I went there, and I found out that I did as well now.
The ones I liked in high school I still keep in touch with, the rest - I really don't want to socialize with if I have a choice (or unless I can use them for something).

It becomes my last reunion for any school, easily.
"Funny thing" (as a hit to the kidney - funny) is that people fell right into their "high school roles", the asshole(s) started acting like one again, the "joker" tried to be funny, the rebel was soooo eager to tell us all how much of a rebel she still was, the girlie cliques grouped up again and acted all teenage and gossipy and ...... damn I was happy when I could get from there again. No more.

Oh and you are an idiot because even in the opening lines of what I said there was sarcasm in what I said, and it was evident later in what I originally said. Everyone else saw that what I was getting pissed about what actually the point of it was - that I was getting asked all the time to go to something and they didn't understand as you don't either and so they annoyingly kept asking when I said no.

I sent and edited version of this which was much more forceful to one of my old school friends and even he laughed at what I said and I am going to quote him now....

Originally via email from one of my friends :-

'LOOOOOL just get a gun then and shoot em.....then they can't ask anymore!!!!!! '

So it seems you are only one here with the problem, you are the only one here that can't read into what I am saying properly without interpreting it to be something it isn't. Enjoy the Henry Rollins Luci....

Blimey -just now I had a facebook request where I have been tracked down to meet up with housemates from Uni -some of whom I havent seen for 13 years.

They are always on about meeting up and it has never quite happened. I would quite like to see them, but am a little nervous going to stay at a house in London in case we don't get on and they are all media/tv types with celebrity best friends. I hate that fake scene, whicih is partly why I have avoided some of them so long. But what the hell, it may be great:p
