jaws without a doubt. i can't even go into a swimmingpool unless there's at least 5+ other ppl in it to even out the odds of me being eaten if a giant white shark would happen to suddenly appear.
QFT
Jaws fucked me up bigtime when I was a kid.
"come and jump into the cool water..."
"ehh no ill stay here and watch you get eaten by THE GREAT WHITE SHARK :eek6: "

I think the lesson we have learned from this tread is that you should not let your children watch scary movies :(

hate that fucking movie...

Dark Water, japanese version is really scary, in a psychological way too. Silent Hill is a great movie also. Saw movies, they are just sick... takes sick people to like them.

watched that last night after you said about it. Jesus fucking Christ that film makes you think. i imagine its quite close to the truth too

when the bomb does go off and all you can hear is screaming, and then the dad looking after his wife (who looked badly burnt) finding their son dead etc
very different to your usual apocalyptic film.

there is no happy ending

I think the worst part is the end. I didn't understand it at first, but I read on the internet that she gave birth to a mutated still-born baby, which is why she is scared and screams when she sees it. This is really horrible when you think about it. Radiation is a scary thing. :|

maybe The hills have eyes? People say its not very scary but I think it is, due to the fact its a true story.

Jeepers Creepers is a pretty decent film, too.
omgosh hehe i saw the ad's for that when it came out and thought Hmm looks fun... watched it (well tried to) a while later and the main chars were sooo damn annoying and abrasive i actually felt sorry for the creeper dude, in the end i had to turn it off.

saw sean of the dead not so long ago (yes yes i know old) but i was really impressed by that, i quite like horror films with an element of humour in them, like dog soldiers man what a movie that is! i love the bit where spooner is duking it out with this heuge werewolf and he's really giving it some but he just knows he has to lose and at the end of the fight when he fronts up to the wolf and says something like "i 'ope i give you the fookin shits" man best line ever tbh.

on a similar note films like deep blue sea, dusk till dawn, vamp etc all get my vote because although they are horror they are entertaining and tbh i really cant bring myself to watch these movies where its just 2 hrs of people getting tortured and chopped up; from what i can gather this covers saw 2 and 3 but i really liked saw 1 even though it was harrowing i found it thought provoking and i think that if your going to make a horror you need more substance than just blood n guts or you end up with texas chainsaw massacre, which although yes goodish film for its time has all the depth of a puddle (for me personally any hoo i found it really hard to muster any sympathy for the characters because i didnt know them well enough to like or worry about them).

if your going to try and make a serious grade a horror i think you need to have characters that the viewers will connect with and really like, then add some humour (dark if poss) then kill em off (but you have to be careful here because if you kill the best ones off then everyone will be all like "eugh didnt liek that tbh they killed off [name] man what a bummer" then be too depressed to enjoy the rest of the film =)

Have to disagree, the "There's no spoon" is the best part :D

Mis has his 1st baby arriving soon, jeez the things that guy buys from E-bay, WoW has got good again with the Burning Crusade, i`m in a guild with a lot of old DAoC guys..Nico Roo Shaeffer to name but a few, and 2 more levels to go till 70, I still prefer my Merc to my Warrior though, but he was the nearest class to him.

Anyways take care bud, i`ll tell Mis he`s gay next time I see him ;).
