And there is that one movie where a guy hears his departed's wife voice in the radio etc.

I liked these movie because of the suspense, even tho The Ring and The Grudge aren't great movies they really got made me nervous a couple of times.

There are probably loads of others, but can't remember

omg wolf creek... ok it would have been an ok movie if they didnt insist on doing all that "this is a true story" crap, you watch the film and it totally contradicts the statement that the story is true because the only survivor is the one that was nailed up in a shed and who didnt know or see what happened to the others so all that gorey gross stuff in the middle is a total fabrication, what they should have said was "wolf creek: the beginning and the last 30 seconds could possibly be based upon a true story, however the dude who told it to us might have been lying so it might actually all be a pile of bollocks"

tbh sue for wrongful wossname, if they'd left all the "true story" crap out it'd have been alright.

I totally agree and a drew the exact same conclusions, However I did watch it thinking it was "Based on True Events" and a number of events spread over 10 or so years at that. So it didn't have an impact on my opinion as "Based on True Events" means it's made up as far as I am concerned.

jaws without a doubt. i can't even go into a swimmingpool unless there's at least 5+ other ppl in it to even out the odds of me being eaten if a giant white shark would happen to suddenly appear.

I think, Exorcist was the worst for me, the minute the girl started having fits, i switched off, had the light on all night aswell lol, i was 11 then.

Erm.. Silence of the Lambs creeped me out a bit, when i was getting to bed i kept thinking Hannibal Lecter was behind the door lol.

tbh hannibal lecter is probably (imo) the most scarey character in a horror film, because he isnt supernatural, he could exist within the realms of possibility and he damn well could eat your liver with a nice chianti if you stop him to ask directions.

you know stuff like freddy and jason and mike myers (halloween not austin powers) dont exist which makes them scarey but fun, but hannibal... well he could be anywhere... he could be.... aaarrrgrh whats that behind you!!!

Blade (not horror but another good one)

Texas Chainsaw Masacre ofc the new version not old (Old is shite compared to the new one)
The Grudge (that made me jump a few times)
Childs Play 1 or any film that has a Clown in like IT

Theres loads out there you just need to find something that messes with your brain after

I remember watching 'Gremlins' when i was 6 that film scared the living crap out of me everytime i went up stairs i ran up them as fast as i can for 3 years lol

My all time favourite has to be 'JAWS' good old classic film

Dawn of the Dead (Original & Remake) - I love Zombie movies, the remake where they don't shamble, freaks me out!

American Werewolf in London - I love Werewolves, and this is still good by todays effects!

Dog Soldiers - Like i said, I love Werewolves!

Alien - I'd love to say Aliens as well, as its one of favourite films, but i dont think its a horror

Child's Play - Doll coming to life, scary!

The Hills Have Eyes (Original & Remake) - Stuck in the middle of nowhere with mutant cannibals...

Salems Lot (Original) - I haven't seen the remake, but the Original really screwed me over as a kid 'tap tap tap' on the window, 'come out and play'!

i dont actually recall being scared while watching any film

at infancy i would watch VHS tapes at night, to help me sleep, often re-runs of winnie the pooh or something, and at the end of the tape(or im told) had a horror film on, i would watch that with my eyes glued to the tv set, and got disappointed(they turned it off) when my parents caught me(i have no memory of it, but ive been told countless times) so maybe that effected me in some way

sure i jump occasionally, but i also jump when i walk into rooms and someone jumps out and goes 'BOO!!' and i wouldn't consider that a scare worthy event

however some films do give me a sense of paranoia, especially if its night and im walking around with the lights off, but then i just meditate and the feeling is gone, once again i only feel my heart rate increase and doesn't really feel scary enough to warrant fear

so... shrug, i guess none

i now dont bother watching horror films there just boring, the plots are generally very similar

I know that a killer clown isn't going to come after me and it's unlikely that I will contract some kind of alien disease which will kill me but imitate my body perfectly, but nuclear war is a real possibility. This makes it scary.

I've always had a profound fear of nuclear war, anyway. The thought of seeing the blinding flash, hearing the ear-splitting explosion, and then seeing a mushroom cloud rising a mile into the sky above just scares the shit out of me. Then, if you survive, what comes afterwards would probably be even worse than the bomb itself. I often have terrifying nightmares about this kind of thing, so I guess I'm pretty screwed up.

watched that last night after you said about it. Jesus fucking Christ that film makes you think. i imagine its quite close to the truth too

very different to your usual apocalyptic film.

Hehehe.. I was thinking of Besökarna too, as actually one of the scariest. It uses some very cheap tricks and it's obviously fairly low budget, but it's oh so effective. The bit where he tries to bar the bedroom door as the banging footsteps are coming down the stairs from the attic and tries to bash the door in, scared the heck out of me the first time i watched it.

Mate of mine is also like you, I never saw him scared while watching a movie, nor is there any way to make him scared. You may drop him off in the woods in the middle of the night and it wouldn't bother him (it would bother me because it would make me paranoia).

Saw is seriousely mediocre, far from scary or good tbh...

White Noise, now that was a pretty intense movie. I judge horror or thriller movies on their suspense and tensitity not on the ammount of blood and body part flying arround.
