scanning perfect?

i got some old docs to scann altho the text is very clear my scanner canon lide 25 picks up every crease,fold,staple and tea/coffee mark. is there a way to scan with a few of these showing a possible? i am more bothered about the creases and fold marks than anything else.

Been a long time since I used a scanner Yaka, but can't you set it to scan in two tone instead of grayscale so that it only picks up the very dark stuff i.e. the text? I used to have a setting on my old scanner that let me do that so that all I had was black and white "paper and black text" effectively.
