SB vs Necro

right here's your answer right from the horses mouth ( lvl 50 necro )

unbuffed necro v unbuffed SB = 50/50 chance
Most depends on whether they get to CD or your pet sings in passive(it happens we have lotsa bugs) and they get off the stun in evade chain. generaly no stun = dead SB

buffed necro v unbuffed SB = dead SB
Even with CD the pet is still at 50% hp when the stun wears off and you've got 2 insta and then 2 Q casted lifetaps hitting the SB. most of my fights like this end up with me on full health and about 70% mana.

unbuffed necro v buffed SB = dead necro
Even if they miss CD chances are your pet will swing once in battle and they'l get in evade chain.

buffed necro v buffed SB = 50/50 chance.
just depends on how much life u can suck back and how quick.

The main prob as a necro is seeing the attack coming. as your pet is usualy out of sight the assasin will be on CD before youve even turned around. if your just sitting there looking at your pet when the PA comes necro's stand a lot more chance.

So far i havent lost a duel to a 50 tank even when i was 43. you just have to survive the stun. though I find infils a pain

Brevis: Aye i remember those fights :) first fight i knew someone was out there and taunted so they would attack since i wanted to know what i could do :) (i was 48 at that point or so) I died quite easily. Second time thou when i learned a bit about fights u had your SB friend with you and u still had to IP :D That felt very good hehe. Now that i finally dinged 50 i hope u jump me again and we shall see how it goes :) Btw, where u buffed any of the time?

Hehe, do what u wish, i will never break rules on purpose and i allways set pet on stay where it can be targetted. Too bad for you that i still can nuke through walls :p And i hope to see you out there so i can do it again to you ;)

Nope, I wasnt buffed, only self dex/quick buffs and AF buff. I also noticed the first fight that you threw something on me that I resisted, Im assuming that was a lifedrain of some sort (go resists!)

Well, as said before, im not engaging another necro unless I get full range ;)

i've only tired blue con necros(green pets :/ ) so far- they drop with little effort.

I've not tried a solo yellow con necro yet :) will do if i see one :)

lvl50 necro

sounds about right
i've seen a 47 necro totaly destroy a 50 paladin in spellcrafted armour...i was amazed

The stun interupting the lifetaps is what would win it for the SB or lose it :D

Resists have nothing to do with your chance to resist a spell.

BTW most SB I encountered have really CRAP resists. If you can get a QC+mezz on them and they don't purge, you just stand up on max-range and start nuking. 3-4 nukes = dead SB.

iirc Resists do have an impact on chance to fully resist a spell.
Said something about it in a grabbag a while back.

Resists are not a factor in spells being completely resisted:

http://www.camelotherald.com/more/704.php
Q: Spell resists. Can you give me more details as to how the system works?

A: Here’s the answer, straight from the desk of the spell designer:

"Spells have a factor of (spell level / 2) added to their chance to hit. (Spell level defined as the level the spell is awarded, chance to hit defined as the chance of avoiding the "Your target resists the spell!" message.) Subtracted from the modified to-hit chance is the target's (level / 2). So a L50 caster casting a L30 spell at a L50 monster or player, they have a base chance of 85% to hit, plus 15%, minus 25% for a net chance to hit of 75%. If the chance to hit goes over 100% damage or duration is increased, and if it goes below 55%, you still have a 55% chance to hit but your damage or duration is penalized. If the chance to hit goes below 0, you cannot hit at all. Once the spell hits, damage and duration are further modified by resistances.

"In general, RvR is between opponents within 1 quanta of each other (in the frontiers for example, L45-50), and the spells cast are L40+. This results in a 2.5-5% modifier, which is somewhat lost in the noise of the bonuses from Int/Acuity, realm abilities, and modifiers from resistances. For characters using spells around L30, they will see a more significant reduction however, and this factor is part of it."
