SB vs Necro

So, how does SBs feel about fighting necros? I know i had some fun fights soloing in emain and getting jumped by SBs Some times i won and sometimes i have been owned hehe, i guess it will take some time to get used to play a caster again

Bug exploit :

With the coming of the Shrouded Isles new classes and some new abilities of these classes, some bug exploit problems came back to the surface. With this news, let's clear some points again :

First, what is a bug exploit for us :
Basically, a bug exploit is when a player finds a bug in the game and uses it repeatedly for his own profit. Today, we will mainly see bug exploiting in RvR situations.

The most common bug exploit is to use geometry holes in order to position your character in an unreachable place, giving the exploiter the freedom to kill any players coming around, with little to no risk, since the victims cannot attack back, unless they themselves exploit the bug. This can be using roofs, bridge holes, etc. All players abusing such bugs are bug exploiters and can be punished. This rule also applies to pets.

Now, let's look at the recent discussions. The problem comes from the line of sight (LOS) of pets. In the current version pets can attack from range through solid objects. Players using pets normally, in a keep defence for example, and sending the pets through the doors are just playing their class normally, nothing wrong with that. Maybe it is not really fair play, but the issue will be fixed in a coming patch and there is no "bug" exploit in this case.

The good news is that the LOS problem will be partially fixed in a coming patch, which will solve a lot of issues.

Indeed, Xajorkith. Which means that necros are perfectly entitled to park their pets on the courtyard in a keep or behind a milegate while the shade (which cannot be attacked by enemies, I might add) finds a good vantage point and nukes away at the enemy. Only if they put their pet inside a wall or another structure where it cannot be targeted and killed does this constitute cheating.

So, the point is, unless your screenshots show a pet blasting away from somewhere it cannot be touched, you might as well throw them away and put up with it.

I have jumped a couple of necros and they die quite easy, but that must depend on the low realm rank I guess.

I popped one necro in FS last nigth. I used Disease + DoT, opened up with BS II - Snowsquall - IB + 1-2 Snowblind ---> dead Necro. First one I've met, other than huge nr. in BG.

I don't think he was lvl 50 yet, probably 46-49.

Even when uber buffed my necro gets owned by (what I assume to be) similarly buffbotted SBs. If they get CD in you're fucked - your lifetaps dont go off until the pet swings.

Yesterday 3SBs jumped him, he managed to kill 1 of them before he died.
SBs are shit without their buffs.

I have fought Kalarr 2 times in sauvage, first runin was me at max range with bow, when the pet got to me it was 1 spear swing and then send the pet on the little Inconnu, fairly easy.

Second time, from almost point blank range, got 2 bow shots off, pet at 50-60%. This time I had a sb friend there to help, still had to blow IP and took additional dam after that.

Im not going to engage a necro unless I got full range.

BTW, does necros get IP, and if so, does it work on the pet as a full heal?

This is how it works...SB are shit when faced with other ppl that are buffed, and that is why many SB are buffed in the first place. Unbuffed vs Unbuffed SB's can take out most classes.

...and about buffs. For me it gives me the ability to take some classes that I otherwhise would not have trouble with (like Vireb's Friar...bah you hit hard), but that doesn't mean I can't take the "bread and butter" classes...like your own class the Scout. The difference is the exposed time and weather you end up with 80%+ HP or 20%+ HP left.

...btw anyone logging in should be easy to take out, cuz you have the element of surprise...does that surprise you??

no he stealthed, there is a 1min pvp immunity timer when you log in. so he could stealth and PA etc

Hm, yes...now when I think about it... I have never attacked a necro solo, I have always had 30-40 sbs with me, and all buffed ofc. Jezz, I realy suck, cant kill anything whitout buffs and my sb-friends... Got killed by green cliff-beatle yesterday when I was running to mmg, think he gave me a PA :/

Perhaps some of excaliburs biggest brains could learn me something about RvR? How about you Skile? You seems so smart.

SB are shit when faced with other ppl that are buffed,

Like most classes then, only class that does ok vs buffed assasins or snipers is tanks, well and friar but they have self buffs
No way a unbuffed minstrel can beat a buffed sb, unless there happens to be a spawn of level 50 mobs nearby (charm) or the sb gets very very unlucky. 1800 hits, 300 dmg per swing, 50% evade rate..
As for necro like any caster if you pull off CD they have no chance, if they don't maybe FP then 2 lifedrains meanwhile start casting health regen and con debuff and then the melee lifedrain will be enough to win.

Probably played 4 hours i total in BG. Think Leel my irl friend playes tham more . It's more or less cuz I wanted to try ut different classes. Stopping those projects at lvl 24 seems like a good lvl.

If your part of a grp and get jumped by a SB and your fully buffed and hes not...isn't the best basis to judge unbuffed SB as shit...----> Aussie. That was my point

Even if you miss CD, you should still make it if you landed Disease.
