SB spec for BG0 ?

Ok, Im guessing your not 100% sure on the differences between them?

A Critblade without PA would be quite poo...

Shadowzerker
Specs high in Left axe and envenom, duel wields two 1-h weapons and does decent damage over periods of time. You do not need to be in stealth (or usually in a certain position to attack)

Advantages
Easy to play
Very good against enemy assasins

Critblade
Specs high in critical strike, usually carries one slow 2-h weapon and does huge ammounts of damage very quickly but after the first few styles gets substantially weaker. I think this version requires more skill as you need to get a positional in and attack from stealth.

Advantages
Will one shot most casters, archers and assasins

Once you've decided which one to go for then we'll get onto the actual spec of it ;)

I think he referred to BG0 being lvl 15-19, so he can't possibly have access to PA ;)

Ah yes good point, BS2 then...

Well if its a critbalde you want then:

15 Stealth
15 Axe
15 Crit
8 Envenom

With items it gives you max in the lines that matter and then a nice bit of envenom to give snare.

If it helps i currently have a lvl18 Shadowzerker in bg0 and with sc armour hes specced summat like stealth20,LA21,Axe18,envenom13 and he can pretty much own wotever he hits except orange tanks, everyhting else is fair game if you think about the correct poisons for the type of char u hitting, snare+poison for casters as they try and run, same again for other stealthers, poison+disease for bards, healers etc cause they can heal themselves an if u feeling brave weaken+poison for tanks to try and even out the dmg.
Of course theres always some1 out there better specced or just a better player who will kick ya ass nomatter how u spec ;)

Shadowzerkers are technically crap against enemy assasins because we can see them coming a mile away - nothing funnier than seeing a SZ walking towards you only for you to get 2 infils in place to backstab (seeing as we're talking about bg0 here) the bugger. They fall quickly, yes they deal high (slow) damage, but even archers see them first !!

Critblades, like other assasins, require a little sneaky element to its style of play - but don't ene shot other assasins (unless they are sitting, AFK or naked ;))

Shadowzerkers do indeed tend to have pants stealth but merely as the person intends to lvl them after BG's and so will auto-train stealth. Smeone who lvls an SZ for BG only (like me) maxes stealth and so Im'the perfect assasin killig machine.

I recently respecced my BG0SZ to a critblade for bg1 and Im really struggling to get the hang of it, when I see enemy assasins I really have to try as without PA I've usually lost the fight. Then again casters die instantly, which is always fun.

Lol

perfect assassin killing machine?

im a NS, lvl 19, and havent lost a single 1v1 fight against any assassin when we were both unbuffed, or both buffed.

my spec-

16 stealth (detect hidden) +3
12 blades +4
18 crit (garrote)
4 CD
4 envenom +1

auto trained to 16 i believe.

infact, i havent lost a fight 1v1 against any player when we were both buffed or unbuffed.

then again, i know how to play my class very well. its not the spec, its wether you have common sense or not and use all the tools at your disposal.

The majority of us dont play with a buffbot, you can hardly put that down to your skill with your char :p

Ive only ever 2-shotted 3 assasins with my SZ's, all three were NS's :p

wtf?

ermm, i dont have a buffbot

where in the thread did i say i used a buffbot?

dont jump to conclusions.

by buffed i mean i was likely grouped when i had the buffs. or they were given by a player playing the druid/warden/bard.

and ive certainly never been 2 shotted by a shadowzerker.

<giggles> You grp?! :p

I apologise for my conclusion jumping. I do however have a lot of respect for good NS's as I do feel they are the worst assasin at low lvls (Ive played all three).

hah

i used to be a lvl 50 infil.

now i play this nightshade.

a good player and a nightshade specced properly = fantastic at low levels.

i just maxed out of bg0.

i did very well.

next stop - thidranki.

um a NS without AP or WA is an infil with poorer starting race and less specpoints.....

as in infils own NSs untill rr5ish where they get equal

well I've just capped in Bg0 last night great funny BTW well done Alb and hibs for a good attempt on the CK.. shame you didn't get it though (I left at about 2 am so you may have gotten it after)

with sneaky git.. Um.. I mean stealthers ;) I found that most if not all I saw just as they came up behind me giving me enough time to hit /face and start life tapping them before they got that first hit in.. by then they were toast what with my skelly's hammering away as well..

I did get caught once or twice by the unseen enemy.. if your just gonna play BG0 then Stealth is a big one to get otherwise your easy to see even to us none stealthers..

I think its a very common opinion that NS's are the underdog of assasins until higher Realm ranks. Why do you try to argue any other way - Id just agree and put it all down to my uber leet skillz!

A good player and an SB/inf specced properly = better at low lvls :p

ok

ok well since you seem to have trouble understanding this -

i easily killed every enemy assassin in bg0. i didnt have trouble against SZ's or infils.

simple as that. i am an ex lvl 50 infiltrator. i know how to play them.

so just trust me on this.

I'll keep Mitigate back in bg1 just to say hello then ;)

Oh well thats ok then, because youve got a lvl50 inf and so therefore everything you say must be correct!

Do you not think its possible that you ran into badly played SB's and infs only, or at least not the best SBs/infs in your short stay in BG's?

?

no i dont have a lvl 50 inf anymore.

nor did i state that just because i played one that it meant i was right.

yes it did occur to me that some of them were badly played. it also was obviously apparent that around 50% of them were actually played quite well (some of them had such poor stealth they obviously had no idea what they were doing) but several were well played shadow zerkers, i ran into alot more SZ's than infils though.

point is, NS's are by no means weak at low levels, its as simple as that, so stop spouting this crap out. Even my spells, which are subject to resists which lowers thier damage considerably are useful. not alot of people in the BG had good spell resists but quite a few did, and even against them they proved useful.
