I had a similar situation a few years back, my manager was doing VERY norty things.

I told the IT director, a massive argument started as he thought the sun shone out of his arse so I quit as the implications on what he was doing could come down on me also.

A month later I got a call from the director offering me the manager job as they fired him!

It turns out the decided to watch what he was up to and turns out that everything I said was right
