Those example shots are usually taken with special settings on the camera (I'm sure someone here can say what it is called ) that shows light more just to examplify
Well, you only notice it in situations like that - lights off, and a very dark scene. It's not enough to detract from the picture though, I only really notice the effect because I knew it would there when I bought it (from reviews and stuff) and so was looking out for it.
I have a LE40C650 which is bad for that too. I am not sure what Toshiba my dad has but the "clouding" is not a noticeable. Overall I would take mine the clouding only show up in certain situations.
