Well, this is what I am expecting from a game like DAoC! Here is the story:
Bitney and I decided to make a Midgard run at the late hours. We headed to amg where we found a Paladin. We charge each other, he went for Bitney, showed actually good skills at his job, but he could not win.
We waited for more, none came, and we headed off to run around the rest of Midgard. Bitney reported she had tells from Censimilia, and that she was waiting at amg. Back we headed, and soon after we arrived, we had an alb incoming... a Paladin.
Guess what, it was the same one. We chased him, he ran, but we killed him. Then I started to wonder. If he was a player like me, maybe he wanted to test himself in duels. So we waited, with Censi in the group now, and it did not last long and we had a Paladin incoming
Now we behaved better, waved to him, he waved to us, then we agreed who should duel him first. Tank vs. Tank was first. So I beckoned him, we bowed to each other and fought. When he accepted his loss, he backed off and we bowed again.
He sat down to rest, then I started to wonder how I would do without Bit's enormous buffs. So I waited a bit, and relogged. It was nice to see he felt the same, as he clapped to me when I repopped.
We fought again, and this time it was much harder, but I have triple wield, and I almost killed him accidentally. We bowed again, and he rested again.
Censi then duelled him with Bit's buffs, and he lost, but Censi did not use crit shot on him, so it is hard to tell the outcome in a normal 1on1. Both did very well.
Last was Bitney. She buffed her pet and dotted him. Both were doing great, but I think Bit would have won.
GREAT JOB BIT! kicking the behind of an Epic Paladin is great!
All had dueled him, so we decided to head into Midgard.
"What if we take Sighfi with us"... was the thought of the group, and after some /beckon and /point in the right direction, we were heading into Midgard... a Paladin, a Ranger, a Druid and a Blademaster.
Unluckily we did not find any mids, would have loved to see their faces.
After running through all of Midgard, a purple guard found us and wiped us, that was the end of the story.
But it was so much fun, I will remember this run for a long time I think! I just feel a bit guilty I wacked on you when I should have known that you wanted the same I want when entering foreign frontiers.
All in all, it takes more players like Sighfi to make this game enjoyable.
Take the chance when you can duel, the fun is worth it!
