I think he was just referring to the fact the the Kurdish intelligence supplied all the information on his whereabouts and basically led the allies right to him and yet recieved little or no credit for their work in the operation from the American fellow making the press conference.

I don't hate anyone for their nationalities, just individuals for their actions.

Indeed i was.

Credit must also go to the Estonian Special Forces who supplied a crate of tin openers to the Kurdish Intelligence Service.

Never let it be said that the Baltic States sit idly by in these dark days.
If this is indeed true then yes credit should also be given to Estonia I agree.

Glad they've got him, hopefully they'll either shoot or hang him so he can die and be forgotten.

Forgotten by us yes, forgotten by his fanatic supporters? no. I wonder how long it will be now until the people running around in Baghdad blowing themselves up next to soldiers will turn their sights to the cities of the countries involved in his capture.

The war didn't bother me, his capture doesn't bother me that much, but making him an example will only cause complications.

OK, all those who want their fix of American ignorance induced anger, read the comments on NeoWin. The rest of us will just carry on with our lives, thank you.

Now, this post turned out to be rather llong and rambling, so for those not interested, the gist of this is: "Distinctly unimpressed and cynical". You can now skip to the next post.

Seriously, does this really make the blindest bit of difference? There's people in the streets of Bagdad at the mo, but do people think it will really let the poppies come up in Iraq now?

If this was going to be the symbolic "here, have your country back" event then yeah, wonderful. But in the space of a day it's already aparrent that the US will flaunt the ICC (Internation Criminal Court) and try him under US law, presumably so they can have their own street parties for his execution.

I know I'm sceptical, but heck, why not. The damage to international relations has been done with this war, the 'seeds of terrorism' sown for another generation. I just don't think this matters.

I'm looking forward to see what Bush says with regards to The War Against Terror. Given that Saddam was, for whatever inexplicable reason, public enemy number one in the US, he doesn't want people getting the idea that his fear inducing war is coming to the end, people might start wanting their freedoms back. But if he makes out that National Security is just as vunerable as ever, then surely some people will twig that Bush's terror crusade isn't entirely coherant?

I guess the most predictable thing will be that Bush and Blair use this as a smokescreen for everything that hasn't gone to plan (where is Osama anyway?) and buy some time with the lless cynical sections of the population.

Not to mention the purported Weapons of Mass Destruction™, which were the justification given for going to war anyway (at least until they inexplicably failed to materialise).

I think Osama is in many very little bits. I'm glad Saddam has been captured, but I do wonder what they're going to do with him now.

Im surprised he wasn't killed resisting capture. I mean he surrendered peacefully which leaves the coalition with more trouble then if he was dead.

Just as logical as coming into a thread and critising someones method of posting , rather than the content and not leaving any opinion on the matter yourself. But then thats all your good at really isnt it.:p

My opinion : Glad hes been captured, just hope he isnt trailed over to the US for a trial and that the Iraq people try him in their usual barbaric fashion.

My point wasn't meant to be about his content, my point was about logic. How seriously would you take me if I was trying to convey my point over several consecutive posts? As for me not leaving any opinion on this matter... it's because I have no opinion. I couldn't care less what happens about this whole Iraq/Saddam/Bush/Blair thing. Politics bores me...

So you just posted to criticise my 3 posts and why i didnt press the edit button ? I will tell you why i didnt press the edit button, because i didnt think about it, its not like i spend all my days writing on forums, next time i will think about it. So what is your opinion about Saddam, as this is a thread about him not if i made 3 posts or not, if you dont have anything to say about him i dont give a flying fu*k but do not interfere in my well written posts about what i think and how i post them.

english is my 3rd language so mind the spelling and grammar

This post suggests you don't know what you are talking about.
