Sad times for all - sucky 3am Raids

What sort of people wait until everyone is in bed to start taking keeps. If Albion were to do the same to you guys we'd be called all the names under the sun and accused of cheating and being lame - but i suppose what you did was concidered tactical and skillfull.

I have noticed that over the past months there isnt a day goes by when after midnight some group of hibs / mids starts an attack on one of our keeps.

Im not saying all are like this - it is obvious that there are still some respectable honourable guilds out there that launch their attacks in hours where defence can be rallied and i take my hat off to them in respect.

Last night at 3am an attacked was launched on one keep owned by the guild i am in - we had 8 people online at the time - of that 5 were active players and the whole of alb had less that 100 people on.

Why does DF mean so much to you people - is it the i must be the L33Test on my server and have as much cash as posible.

I know the game is all about being the most powerfull Realm and all that - but the next time a midnight sneak attack is launched - dont blame the attackers - look to your own people - its no longer in our hands.

Most of the time it's boring taking alb keeps as you guys have no pride and don't bother trying to take them back unlike the mids who still do have some pride in their frontiers.

TBH i wish we'd just let you take the relics back just so you get off your arses and start defending your frontier and make life interesting again.

We had to go defend our keep (bledmeer) last night at around 1am since albs were knocking at the door. Wasnt over until 2am or so when i would rather have been sleeping. I dont blame anyone tho, since we had claimed the keep it was our responsiblity to go defend (we did get help from other guilds tho ) and it *is* a 24/7 game.

But i do agree that very late raids kinda miss the purpose of rvr since you, most likely, wont get nice/fair fights.

Hearts of Fire has organised several df retakes at a decent time in the past week(s) and NEVER has alb put up a decent defence. When did you try and take them back? That's right, several hours after everyone left the zone out of boredom... The word hypocrit comes to mind.

That aside, who do you think you are to tell people how and where to play? If people are still up at x am and there are no rr2 roleplaying wizards to farm rps off like yourself they can do what they like. Sure, you can have your opinion about it, but you cannot compare it to the opinions of an entire realm nor can you judge what is right and what is wrong.

Hi there, my guild is probably resposible, heres my oppinion:-

My guild likes to take keeps (mainly for df, but sometimes just for fun), any time of day, morning noon or night. We have a lot of players that play very late at night, so im afraid we will take keeps at that time. (We can hardly tell the people that log on from 24:00 ->6:00 that they cant take keeps or have DF now can we?).

You might only have 8 people on (probably about the same as us), but you should be in an alliance, have friends, use broad channels, chat groups, and mount a defence. Hell you could upgrade your keeps or make the doors a bit stronger.

Just be thankfull we will never go for your relics at this time.

We would gofor mid keeps, but they defend them a lot and very skillfully, perhaps if like the middies you put up some resistance to 8 brehons and couple of siegerams we would go get farmed somewhere else

I won't even bring up albs organising raids when SI was out and in a patch the Aegir teleporter was bugged and every mid at the time was bound there making it a 30 odd minute journey to even get to the frontier.

We all use tactics to our advantage. We all also deal with it. Lets not forget that the only way that albs ever win is through superior numbers

Yes everyone is free to use tactics, but some tactics still leave room for fun in the game

keep takes in the middle of the night are fair enough, generally the populations are equally small on both sides of the fight (whether anyone on the defending side can be bothered to go out to the frontier is different though - or whether anyone hears about it).

Relic Raids in the middle of the night generally involve an inordinate amount of people for that time of day logging in and swiping relics... and piss off a lot more people than just one guild.

Or in short: 3am keep takes are a bit lame but understandable, 3am relic raids are incredibly lame

I don't disagree, just getting pissed off with the constant alarmclock rr thing that comes out every time fighting in the frontiers is mentioned. I didn't personally go on the alarm clock raids but mainly because I'm not getting out of bed before lunchtime at the weekends for anyone or anything

All realms have used something for an unfair advantage to try to get relics before whether it be petspam, huge numbers, stealthzerg, login raids or even alarmclock raids (although I see little difference beween a completely non leaked login raid and alarmclock raid as it only takes 10 to 15 minutes to get the doors down no with TOA items and abilities which isn't enough time to get a defence force to the keep)

And the consequent Mid defense of the strength relics showed that around 400 Mids supported the attacks (as they showed up to defend, causing the server to crash).
Mids are spineless cheating cowards who probably all also used to cheat when they played Unreal, CS or any other online game.
